She did a couple of album covers and slept with Prince a few times. I don't consider her to be super significant in the full scope of Prince's life/career.

I listened to her interview with Prince Podcast. Nice lady, and she's doing great things with trying to help those with addiction, but I still do not think she was that significant in the Prince camp. She stated she first saw him when going to concerts/album signings with her friend who was a fan, and then met Prince when one of the guys in his camp (probably Jerome) introduced her to him at the hotel where Prince was staying - Controversy period. * It just seems she was one of the "side chicks" whom he also used for the Madhouse album covers. She did/does not have a musical backround, and did not collaborate with him other than to be one of the girls who modeled for his project.

She was significant to Prince even for a short period of time. She hasn't tried to smear his name like many others have who were more prominent (a better term, imo) in his life, so she's okay in my book. [Edited 8/25/19 0:45am]

Devin Devasquez only dated him for 6 months yet wrote an entire book about him

Devin Devasquez only dated him for 6 months yet wrote an entire book about him The fact that she was “in and out of his life” makes it a prime reason why she was not that significant. Like Devin D, she was not a girlfriend. He did not see her on a regular basis. He would contact her when he wanted to “scratch an itch”, as they say. Same with Devin D. She also did the Madhouse album covers for him, but stated Prince was not present during those shoots. * She stated that she was also married for two years between ‘86-‘91, so there were huge chunks of time when she was not seeing him at all. She stated he had asked her if she wanted to be in the Gett Off video before he went on tour - which would have been the 1990 Nude tour, because all of the Gett Off videos were filmed in the Spring/Summer of 1991. She stated she got pregnant while Prince was on tour, and told him when he got back. So, any time with him would have ended at that point in 1990. * If you listen to her statements and discussion of the timeline, it’s clear that she only saw him occasionally in that 4 year period, which makes sense based on Prince’s recording and tour schedule. The only women who were with Prince on a regular basis were those who lived in MN with him. The rest were occasional hook-ups.

I heard her statements differently on the Prince Podcast. In that interview, she stated she was married before her unexpected pregnancy, which she stated happened in 1991, which is why she could no longer be part of the Gett Off videos. Her two year marriage happened prior to the pregnancy, so it must have been with another guy, and at an earlier time frame - probably '88-'90. She did not date Prince again in 1991, as she would have been very pregnant and about to give birth to her child. * Of course Jill Jones and Sheila were MUCH more significant in "Prince world". Jill lived in MN in 1983, and was one of the "harem" along with Vanity and Susan. We now also know she was seeing Prince in '82 when he was flying out to LA to record some of the 1999 album. She was also his backup singer for many years, and recorded an album on PP label. Sheila is even more significant, as she had known Prince since 1979, she collaborated with him on many songs, toured with him twice, released her solo albums under PP label, and continued to play on stage with him throughout his career. * There is no comparison between Maneca Lightner and Jill/Sheila in terms of significance.

How significant or insignificant she was in Prince's life (personally/professionally), only Prince can say just like with the rest of them. So, I'll leave this subject alone.

Of course Prince would have the definitive word, but he would never divulge that, so this site is really just based on opinions along with known information to support or negate them. To me, it's become even more clear that Prince had so many of these types of "off and on" flings throughout his years. It's amazing that he and/or his assistants were able to keep track of it all. * I do think that most would agree to at least some of the women who are known to have been more signicant in his life - based on his personal/professional time spent with them and his songs as well - Susan, Vanity, Jill, Susannah, Wendy, Lisa, Sheila, Anna G, Kim B, Mayte, and Manuela.

People can say what they want, but the 'disbanding' of the Revolution was larger than just the band. If affected his whole scene and it was never to that level again. . Everyone except for Dale Alexander were in Prince's band. It would have been cool to have seen shows with Maneca and dancers, or presenting the band or something. I loved her in the videos. . Was she in Hard Life(Misdirected Film by Prince)?

I listened to her full interview with Prince Podcast. She was not in The Hard Life” film - they asked her about it and she actually thought it was called “A Hard Knock Life” and that it was filmed in 1991 * She was also not familiar with any of the music on the albums (they asked her that too) and said she was “not a fan of Jazz music.” * I guess my point was that, other than being the “pin-up girl” for the album covers and an appearance in the video, it seems she was really not involved with the project. Also, I believe the photo shoot would have been done after he disbanded The Revolution - sometime in 1987.

I googled her and was surprised to see quite a few pics of her at events with Jill Jones. I'm assuming they're friends. There's always a rainbow 🌈 , at the end of every rain ☔️

Certainly seems as though he had various women “on call” in many locations. Devin D stated that every so often she would get a call from his manager or security (most likely Steve or Gilbert) saying that her “friend” was in town and wanted to see her. He certainly was “living the life” back then

oh ok. Yeah the film was supposed to be some kind of Madhouse connection. . Well I know she was not involved in the music. She was the album model and appeared in 1 or 2 videos for Madhouse. . Well yeah I assume the album photos were done sometimes after October 1986,

I totally get why Prince wanted her for those covers and the video, and also why she was one of his "friends" on call She obviously exuded that voluptuous 40's Jazz Bar "pin-up" look he had envisioned for the project. He sure was rocking all cylinders back then, making all good choices.

I don't care what anyone says that pre 1989 Prince period was the absolute best. 1987 had so much potential. And if 1987 Was Prince & the Revolution -Dream Factory Camille Sheila E Madhouse that would have been a hot time, that I should not even think about, but cannot help to.

I agree 100%. I think The Revolution needed at least one more year to get all or most of the material out. I honestly think the break-up of The Family resulted in the quicker demise of The Revolution. Had they stayed together Prince would not have absorbed Jerome and crew, Susannah, and Miko. I'm sure he would still have had Eric on stage, but Eric could have done both bands if The Family opened for The Revolution on tour.

Yeah I agree. Also UTCM soured Prince, he had to blame someone I think Prince was trying to get Eddie M in the Revolution. As Eric was in the Family

I've always known she was one of Prince's girls. A few years ago I bought a boot with all of Prince associates on it and saw her in two of Prince's videos. The videos were cool AF. Prior to that I hadn't known she did any videos. I thought she was only on the covers of the Madhouse albums. She was no main squeeze but she was def one of his girls with some clout during 86/87.
