Eric Leeds - besides a career with Prince what exactly has he done?

Hi - intrigued to hear what he has actually done beyond anything with Prince or FDeluxe?

I do not like the man BUT do love his sound - I have searched on the net BUT cannot find anything much that he has recorded or played live on [gigs etc] on his own / outside the purple circle.

Honestly NOT looking to bash him!!

This is what I can find so far: [i think 100% Prince related!]

If you explore "Credits" at the left of the Discogs page, you will see he had other appearances on non-Prince records. Not enough given his incredible talent, and many still revolving around the Mpls scene, but he definitely did some other things.

.

We must also keep in mind that by the time he met Prince, Eric had had a 15 years or so long career as a jazz musician. Unfortunately no studio recordings came out of this because it was all live gigs, but for Eric it certainly was an intense part of his career as a professional musician.

thanks for that DB. Very good point, sad that there isn't much on record to appreciate his sound. I guess Times Squared is as good a represenatation of his?

Not to mention the wonderful albums Eric(the Family ie FDeluxe) put out,

He also recorded with Sheila E in the 1990s

Times Squared really is "Prince recordings polished and finished by Eric Leeds". His second and third solo albums are probably the closest you'll find to the music Eric really wanted to record (he spoke fondly of Things Left Unsaid in his Podcast Juice interview), but I have no idea how close they are to what he was doing on stage in the 70's and early 80's.
