And? What has that to do with my post?

Perhaps I don't understand your post? It seems to imply that Prince was even worse that what has been portrayed in the book. When people make claims that they served as Prince's confidante, therapist, family, someone who Prince entrusted with his heart, it does not ring true in the context of this book. "She was the driving force...etc." does not mean anything to the average fan, and it can't be substantiated. Perhaps I'm not sure of the purpose of your post.

Yeah, you obviously didn't read my post. I was talking about Ruth. She was the driving force and a positive constant in his life. Kim initiated her when she first started working for Prince and she gave her stories that are even worse than what she wrote in her book.

That is what I said. I have posted nowhere that I support Kim's book - on the contrary, if you read my posts in the 2 book threads. She had no right in taking his personal business out there. And people who know me know that Prince has all my loyalty. Nowhere have I implied that Prince was even worse than what Kim Berry writes in her book.

I wish this would get out there more because from what I’ve seen on social media there are a lot of fans (especially ones attending Celebration) who love Kim and think she’s the real deal. Maybe this book will open their eyes but I doubt it. However if more associates call her out that might change things.

I used to like listening to Kim but was appalled by the book, so she won't be getting more of my money. It's incredible thinking about how much employment and opportunity Prince provided. Many in America send their business to 3rd world countries (esp in clothing), but Prince hired local artisans, designers, dressmakers, he raised up photographers, art directors (Parke), and on and on. Helped Kim open 2 salons but she says he didn't respect women. And how many of us get involved in our employer's intimate relationships?

In her initial interviews not long after he passed she seemed to be a humble person and respectful toward him. However, as time has passed her actions seem to contradict this. To me, she lost credibility with the changing dates of her employ and the attempted suction of his hair and comb. Now we find out she’s had licensing issues within her profession. All of these things adding up to show a person who is not a trustworthy source for information.

Makes me wonder was that all a lie and something she did just to attract a fan base from Prince fans and now that has them the real Kim is coming out?

For me this appears to be the case.

Well I found out where she got her #1 claim from. Apparently the book was #1 on Amazon’s hot new releases in biographies of composers and musicians. It’s #10 now.

Well at least some can see her claims for what they are. Many don't or chose not to.

I doubt it too. Kim has this "sister/auntie" thing about her that makes people want to open up to her and be under her wing. I've seen Prince fans among my friends who never knew her before his passing and now they pose with her in photos like besties, smooching and hugging. Of course it isn't real but that's what they don't see. They're still in this emotional state which many of the associates cash in on now.

Yes and now she shits where she used to eat. And her claim that he didn't respect any of his women and even tops it with this nonsense that every woman - no matter if she was in his life for 3 minutes or 3 years - first had to sit in her chair and be dolled up before Prince would even see them and that all of them asked her for advice on how to please him - really, this ego. A friend of mine and I who knew him back in the years that Kim was there just talked about this. We both don't remember having our hair done by her, much less asked her for the way to his heart. Yes, she did her hair - but only for a job. And I remember hair tips but they came from Prince himself.

She wasn't the gatekeeper but now presents herself like one. She also claims she was his bodyguard over here in Europe. Another embellishment. Just like he didn't need her to run errands to stores over here where she didn't speak the language. That may have happened once or twice, and I say may. He had full concierge service on his black AMEX for that.

I wonder if she's really following through with the other two "volumes" of the book and if she will go as far as sharing about his second marriage what she only claims behind the scenes so far. It's not my place to share as it makes Prince look worse than you can imagine and it involves people that in some cases aren't here anymore to defend themselves, and I still have my doubts in it.

I don’t have a problem with most of the musicians/band members he worked with. For the most part they seem to be respectful and not taking advantage of his death to make a quick buck. I think people like Liv, Shelby, Cassie, 3EG girls and members of original NPG are the real deal.

Of course Tamron Hall sat in her chair to get dolled up and got dating tips...

https://www.mediaite.com/...ce-single/

I wrote about this in another post... just look at the sort of women Prince surrounded himself with and ask yourself if she was giving tips on what he'd like... Sheila E, Susannah Melvoin, Carmen Electra, Judith Hill, Kim Basinger, Vanity, Jill Jones, Sherilyn Fenn, Bria Valente... Someone else in this thread didn't want to believe she was lying about the whole book... I would say most of it is fiction, sprinkled with some truths.

Never mind about Prince, I don't have a stitch of respect for Ms. Berry, and she won't be getting any more of my hard earned money.

Indeed Prince had full Amex concierge service... those of us who work in the real world understand this, and that is why we see through her.

Yes, I absolutely agree... they are class acts. Clementine Campardou's book was so beautiful, another fine artist that Prince promoted and endorsed, who worked with him. Prince bassist Ida Nielsen did such a beautiful dedication in that book which any Prince fan will be thrilled and inspired by. They continue as women on their path of fine music, with gratitude for their mentor Prince.
