It's in the files....

He died in 2016 so if the pic was in 2010...that's 6 years.

I refuse to read any of the investigation files. Did Kim herself confirm she hadn’t worked for Prince for 6 years? If she was doing his hair in November 2010 I find it hard to believe all of a sudden in January 2011 she’s no longer working for him anymore. If she wasn’t working for him the last 6 years of his life than the most she could have worked for him was 19 or 20 years. Yet she’s claimed 25 years, 29 years and nobody has called her out over it.

The fans did call her out on her claims and still are, at 1 point I believe she even shut her social media account down over it. Her story always changes on how many years she worked for P.

I'm not going to go over 1000's of pages in the files to find out who exactly made that statement, but it is there.

As far as the other ASSociates making $$ or who hasn't, maybe we need a separate thread for that.

Right now Kim is trying to play the victim card, like this ordeal is not her fault, and it was, the hair and the picture.

Prince did a lot for his former employee's even after they weren't in his bands. He's paid for medical bills, funerals, bought some houses.

Selling his hair is just low, low, low.

I’m not defending anything she’s doing, I’m just not convinced she never worked for him in the last years of his life. No one said everything from the investigation files was the gospel truth.

TypoQueen

You respect ur clients in life and death.
She did not auction his hair in life as she would have been kicked out the door banished forever.
To auction his hair now that Prince is no longer with us shows much disrespect and shows all her clients that she should never ever be trusted.

“If” claims are true she was never paid well then that’s her responsibility. She should have taken other part time work while working for him or she should have left and pursued higher paid work elsewhere.

No excuses.
She has free will.
She did what she did as this is what she wanted to do.

Disrespectful
Shameful
He valued trust
She proves now to all she can not be trusted and should never be trusted.

Advice to her clients:
Have hair bagged up and handed to you. If not done then never give her ur business.

I'm talking about star 'love/worship' I know the difference between the Lord of the Rings and Kim selling hair. I'm talking about the 'market' for the hair of someone adored dead or alive

Prince’s Longtime Personal Hairstylist, Kim Berry Shares the Details of Her New Book & Her Experience with the Legend

Beauty expert, speaker, philanthropist, and author, Kim Berry is here to give us all the details on her new book, Diamonds & Curlz – 29 Years Rolling with Rock Royalty Prince.” Berry traveled the world with the legend and is ready to share her experience. In this exclusive interview with Sheen Magazine, Kim Berry discusses the life lessons Prince gave her.

In addition to all things beauty, you are also a speaker, philanthropist, and author. What intrigued you to tackle all those titles in life?

Well, working around Prince. Him being one of the biggest entertainers in the world, I saw him make moves and help people. I saw him help churches that were about to lose their building, he was always buying computers for less fortunate kids, and musical instruments. He always told everyone that it was never about him, it was always about God. He always encouraged me to make sure that I’m always a giver. Growing up, my mother and father instilled that in us growing up, we always went to church, but your tithes aren’t just your money. It is also your talent, time, and anyway that you can give back because, in the big scheme of life, you know that its never just about you. Its always about what you do for God that will last for the world to see even when you’re gone.

Tell us about the memoir that is slated for an April 2019 release.

My book, Diamonds N Curlz is going to be about the wonderful journey and adventures that I was able to endure. I’m going to bring people behind the purple curtain and tell them about my experience traveling the world with one of the world’s most prolific artists. I’m so excited and I cannot wait to share my journey with the world and tell people about the man, the brother, the uncle, dad, husband, not the rock star Prince, the human being Prince that I laughed and prayed with.

I thought this thread was about the auction and hair and everything that goes along with it.

Maybe a book thread needs to be made so the book can be discussed there, because it has nothing to do with this thread.

Exactly. Kim is selling multiple personal items here, including more socks and handerkerchiefs. The bottle of 3121 perfume is reportedly straight from Prince's dresser.

I would imagine he would have had to have received her permission to use her likeness in his book. Same with Mayte, as there are a couple of her in the book as well.

However, she is definitely not permitted to reproduce and use his photograph for profit. Pretty sure that's a big "no-no" in the world of copyright infringement....

That might be true with regard to the law; however, why not just allow her to use the photo for profit? It is unlikely to hurt his book sales. He could even require that the photo include his photo credit and that it reference his book, which could even have the effect of selling more books. Whatever, the case, I hope they can work this out. I don't think Prince would want PRN Alumni to be at-war like this.

Ummm...because we don't live under communism?

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

For heaven's sake, she is IN the photograph. Does she have any rights under the law? Perhaps an org member/lawyer could shed some light. After all, Parke was paid to be Prince's photographer. He has his book and other ways to monetize the photos, like exhibits, etc. I'm just saying that it would not have killed him to just let this thing go about this ONE photo. Surely, he has THOUSANDS of Prince photos which are a veritable lifelong treasure trove. Apparently Prince was generous enough to allow him to have ownership of his photos, so maybe he could be a bit more generous in this instance. Whatever little money Kim might make from that photo will not affect him AT ALL.
