St. Paul - "You Got 2 Love"

St. Paul did a live video today on Facebook playing his new song (his first since the previously unreleased "The Regulator" and "Forgive Me" from Straight To The Funk - The Best Of from 2010) with a lyric video, then debuted the actual video. That link is to the music video. Check the St. Paul fan page for the Facebook live. You can add the song to your Spotify. It's on iTunes as well.

And opening iTunes, apparently The Very Best Of Prince is on sale right now.

I really love the song. Good message, funky stuff, good people on it, and some fun cameos at the end of the video.

Think it's about time he dropped the St infront of his name. Paul Peterson sounds better and less fake. Call me old fashioned but I think u should only refer 2 yourself as a saint if u actually are one. To give yourself the title is egotistical.

He did not give himself that title - Prince did.

You sound ridiculous. What is "less fake"? Did you equally pick apart Carmen Electra, Apollonia, Jellybean, Vanity, Jimmy Jam? Or how about Babyface, Axl Rose, Slash, Buckethead, Marilyn Manson, Cee Lo Green, or any rapper (1% of which may use their real name)?? Maybe you could write a letter to the city of St. Paul so they remove the St. until they repent and embrace Jesus Christ as their personal savior.

Hell, even Miley Cyrus's name was Destiny Hope Cyrus.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Exactly. Not to mention, anyone who knows the history behind the nickname knows that it was created by Prince, and more related to "St Paul" the city of MN then the term "Saint" - although I believe Paul is Catholic too, so all around it was a great moniker for him.

And you know what, I almost put that in my response, and I thought surely the OP knew at least that much. Clearly, they didn't. Paul is born-again evangelical, I 99.9% sure. He plays bass regularly at his church, which is a non-denominational evangelical type church. And yeah, I think St. Paul was always one of the more clever names to pop up in the Prince camp.

And to the OP bitching about being "less fake", how many fucking names did Prince use other than his own???? Azifwekar, Joey Coco, Christopher, The Starr Company, Camille, etc etc.

Back 2 the music, "You Got 2 Love" is a funky groove.

It's a tribute to funk. Prince didn't invent funk.

Pretty good, but I prefer Mutiny and NC2U with fDeluxe/The Family. Needs Eric's Sax and the rest of the crew to get the full sound smile

Agree but I enjoyed the performances.I'm watching his show in Stockholm that he streamed live on FB and it was great! He did 'Cool', 'Jungle Love' and 'The Bird', 'The Screams of Passion' as well. Cool set list and good band too.
