I think most are good. Some such as Jill's and Sheila's three,I think are great. Not sure that the albums are reflective of the quality of the relationships.

I've wondered the same. Susannah might. I've wonderd if he may have asked Mani to sing or if he may have used her speaking voice for something. Kim Berry said that he would often ask her to speak on different recordings. She said he used her voice on one of the songs on NPS iirc.

I think the quality depends on the musicianship and talent of the women he worked with and what they brought to the table. Hence the great albums by Sheila and Jill.

Hmm I hadn't considered that his level of attraction to a woman would determine how much effort he would put into their album. I think he put his heart into most projects. I am reminded of the clip of him in the studio with Mavis Staples explaining to her his vision for a particular song they were working on and how he wanted her to sing.

not as good as jills or andys

It varied from project to project. He gave some of his best songs to Sheena Easton and she represented them well.

The work he did with Chaka Khan was stellar as well.

"Come 2 My House" was, by far, the stongest album he ever produced for another artist. He really put his heart & soul into that one. He adored her. Also, his two albums with Mavis Staples. People tend to forget about those. Both of which were excellent.

I agree. I'm sure that Sheila had a lot of input in her albums,not sure about how much involvement Jill had or if she was fulfilling Prince's vision but their albums are the best in my opinion. As far as his more recent work with women,I think that 'Superconductor' and 'Back In Time' are very very good and both Andy and Judith have said their work with Prince were collaborations and that they were very involved in the process.

Yes,they have a similar sound,I agree. He was the executive producer for Andy's,not sure about Liv and Judith's. Judith's new album is very reminiscent of his style and sound but he had no involvement from what she's said.
