Sue Ann Carwell - Here 4 U Thoughts and Opinions Sorry, don't know hot to post the video, but here's a link: https://youtu.be/1B7qwMxsjR4
In looking at the Billboard R&B chart toppers of 1992, this song sounds as good as others on the list. Any takes/thoughts on why she didn't break through?

Standard R&B song with standard R&B delivery. Attractive woman in club outfit. Nothing new even then. [Edited 8/29/18 11:28am] No More Haters on the Internet.

Thanks, my point exactly. So what made this artist able to get on the charts as opposed to Sun Ann? Is it all about luck?

it's interesting to think that Sue Ann Carwell could have been the first female Prince protege. He was working with her in the late 70s,but she never released a full Prince-produced album.

She never released anything by Prince except a b-side co-written by C. Moon, that was entirely rerecorded and for which Prince didn't even get any credit since Chris Moon "stole" it as a retaliation for Prince screwing him over writing credits on For You. Nice tidbit databank.
The song is standard radioplay. So many talented people never get heard.
