I like Natalya, and Tracy Chapman too for that matter. I remember buying her ‘Fast Car’ single and then her fine debut album what must be almost 30 years ago (!), not really expecting her to become so popular. I think she’s a talented song-writer. I still have several of her albums and haven’t moved any on, which is always a good sign.

That lyric you've quoted from 'Heaven's Here on Earth' makes me think back several decades to my childhood, when our church had a member who was pretty eccentric, quite quiet, good natured, and very much a smiley-miley. I recall one of the adults joking that perhaps he may be an angel.

One night my folks and I were travelling home by car, after we had been attending a sporting event nearly a couple of hundred miles from home. We were on a minor backroad, when we came across someone walking alongside the road.

Considering we were in the middle of nowhere & it was a freezing cold winter night, my Dad naturally stopped the car to pick him up. To our amazement this guy from church got into the car.

I’m not suggesting that he was literally an angel, but he was certainly one of those distinctive, almost other-worldly folks that one very rarely comes across in life, and certainly never forgets.

I suppose our travelling that route was very probably just an extraordinary coincidence, though given his precarious circumstances in such a remote location in winter, I can’t help but wonder whether he had a guardian angel, who was working overtime that night. I guess I must have watched ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ one time too often.
