I would like to see the documentary cover her and her dancing career pre Prince. Footage of her performances, any interviews and write ups. I would like the documentary to focus entirely on her and her dancing career. She can include footage of her work with Prince, but more so her in rehearsals for tours, her in meetings with choreographers, what she did professionally after she stopped working with Prince. Everything about her personal relationship with Prince was already covered in her book, so would not be interested in that content at all.

I would love to hear a bunch of “one time on stage”
Moments. Or “stories on the road” moments. Kinda outtakes
From shows, once again stuff that would warm our hearts and remember
Prince at the same time.

Her dancing career pre Prince?? She was 16 yrs old when she first met Prince. Not sure what "career" she would document. The video footage of her belly dancing as a kid is already on YT. Any career she had was with Prince - he gave her the recognition and opportunities. Post Prince, from what I have read/seen, was a relationship with Tommy Lee, and a stint on Hollywood Ex's.....

To be fair, we don't know what Mayte is planning and if she's slapping it together for a quick buck. But yeah, Spike Lee would be a great choice indeed. I really like his Off the Wall and BAD 25 Doku.

Yes, Spike Lee would be a much better choice for any documentary on Prince's work. They were good friends, and collaborated quite a bit through the years. I think Spike, Alan Leeds and Questlove together would be a great team. They would have the clout and ability to bring in many of Prince's camp during that time to add stories and anecdotes to the film.

.....and I think Mayte contributing to their film with anything extra she has in the way of his recordings, rehearsals, and/or performances during the 90's would be the best scenario.

NP. I realize alot of fans want to be high minded about this, but Mayte seems to be in a unique position to develop a documentary that discusses P's work and personal life. After completing her book, I found myself going down the rabbit hole and researching the songs, the interviews and photos that referenced the events in her book. That's a documentary right there. I think we like to hold everyone who interesected with P up to some exceptional standard, which I think is truly unfair. Prince pretty much did what he wanted both professionally and personally . . . anyone else's feeling be damned! Maybe she learned from the best. I would welcome any documentary really, even if it was creating a visual accompaniment to the book. Her book was interestring . . . heck, it was a NYT's best seller! Aside from a few people who take the time to post hereand disagree, the market really speaks for itself. People want to hear these stories . . . especially from a woman he married.

Isn't there supposed to be some big surprise coming with the whole L4OA thing?

At this point a lot of people in this camp are doing a lot of talking about what they are going to do but at the end of the day it only matters what they actually do. I've gotten bored with all the hype. Wake me when something is actually on the market.

Time keeps on slipping into the future...
