He knew of Wendy and Lisa's relationship as well this was long before her(back in the 80s) ....he knew of lesbianism before so why is this a new topic ....its been beaten like a dead horse imho

I know Prince's history. What brought this subject up again in my head was reading about Monae coming out as a pansexual recently. I ended up re-listening to Giving em what they love and saw those lyrics. My point was that Prince wasn't just lightening up from some of his misguided JW beliefs but was also featured directly in a song and album embracing bisexuality in lyrical form. It was kind of encouraging to me. Its one thing to agree to work with lesbians -- its another thing to be featured in an album that was pro-bisexual and more specifically in a song that suggests the same. I know what about Wendy and Lisa. I know about the lesbian references to kissing girls on the dance floor in songs like 319. But we also know P's rep took a hit in the early 2000's where this subject was concerned. It was a nice thing to see him lightening up to an extent that rivals the 80's. By the way, some subjects are bound to get talked about again because Prince, as you know, isn't doing anything new to talk about..unfortunately.

He brought it up earlier when he asked Lisa and Wendy to do the verbal part of Computer Blue at the beginning( Lisa has expressed this in video interviews on Yahoo and other places about this topic}... i can care less about being "pansexual" actually it was brought up before 2000 you need to google more there was a scuffle about a few songs on his PR album(like Darling Nikki and Computer blue) ...P was coming to their home and collaburating with them even after the Revolution broke up and they have stated in many interviews at first he didnt accept their lesbian relationship BEFORE his JW days.... but he did as u can see in the PR poster it was HIS idea to put Lisa's arm on Wendys hip! and kept in contact with them even after he became a JW ....

I know all this (I know his music and history very well--I am not a new fan ,just a new poster) except my impression was that when he and W/L were breaking up in 86, they had a fight and P said some crap about their being gay. Apparently, he missed them eventually again when he recorded "In this Bed I scream" in 1996.. he seemed to have gotten over it. But then 2000 rolled around and he said some more shit about the girls denouncing their sexuality -- to which, Wendy, I believe, said she 'mourned' him because they had lost him to religion. But 2004 rolled around and he performed with Wendy on Tavis Smiley and everything seemed cool. Then he worked with W and L in 2006, performed with Wendy at First Avenue in 2007 and they contributed some music to Planet Earth.. But then 2008 had that interview that sounded homophopic. To which Prince said he was misquoted or taken out of context.. They had an off-on relationship throughout the years. But it sounds like he got over it again when he called Wendy in an attempt to contact Susannah and supposedly told Wendy to tell her son (whom she had with her wife, Lisa [not the same Lisa]) to call him "Uncle Princey". I know Prince loved Wendy and LIsa despite his issues. THAT WAS NOT MY POINT. That love for many years after the 80's could have been justified in Prince's mind with the bullshit argument of loving the "sinner" but not the "sin". My point is that working with Monae (a rumored homosexual) on a pro-bisexual album may have been him politically embracing a person's right to love whomever they want...I could be wrong, but I hope I am right. The opening of Computer Blue does embrace an openness to W and L being intimate and I was glad to see it back in lyrical form again. I don't just chuck it up to a horny guy watching chicks kiss on the dance floor like in 319. Monae's embracing of sexual freedom has an intimacy that doesn't involve him (only musically but not thematically) but he was lending his sound to a song/album that does embrace loving whomever you want written by a woman..
