Prince was in the TIP TOP shape of his life on the 'Welcome To America' tour. I'll NEVER forget seeing him at several shows on the 21 night stand in Los Angeles at The Forum in 2011. He was the last artist to play at The Forum before they redid & renovated it(with the help of his donations from that residency there). I was just in AWE at how good of shape he was in. His arms was like guns. He also had six pack abs! But just a couple of years later he started losing his muscle tone. I never at the time understood why.
I know exactly what you mean. I, too, have been trying to make sense of his rapid decline, beginning around mid-2014. Here are a couple of photos of him in Copenhagen, August 6-7, 2011. The man was looking exquisitely good. He had this rugged look going on...and he had GUNS. And, he was ROCKING the do-rag like nobody's business. Whew. Let me stop. Let me just end by saying that Miss Andy was BLESSED. She must have been on .

Whatever anyone here may say about LG. I know he's well hated here. But their relationship did make Prince VERY happy for a LONG time. More than any of his women did. "That mountain top situation is not really what it's all cracked up 2 B when was doing the Purple Rain tour had a lot of people who knew 'll never c again @ the concerts.just screamin n places they thought they was suppose 2 scream." |

Agreed...but it is important to note that this screenshot was taken from a video shot in Copenhagen, where Andy and Prince seemed to be very much in love. Both of them were glowing. But, you're right: P LOVED him some Larry Graham. |

I enjoyed watching Prince and Larry onstage together and I think they vibed well off each other.I loved when they would have bass battles. The Copenhagen show was fantastic and Prince and Andy did share quite a few nice moments.I especially loved their mashup of Waiting In Vain and Crimson & Clover! He made some really cute faces at her during his guitar solo and was acting like a kid. It was fun to watch! |

I knew Prince & Andy was in love when I attended(through divine intervention) their appearances on the "Jimmy Kimmel Show" in October 2012.
Prince(who looked bloated but still healthy looking) made sure Andy was set at a special place onstage and gave her his guitar to play. He couldn't keep his eyes off of her. The soundcheck was WAY better than the actual show. Prince also made sure that Andy had her own segment to perform songs from her fourthcoming "SuperConductor" album. With a band that was later added to Prince's NEW NPG BAND line up. With a new reformed horn section. It was their debut and they was FUNKY! "That mountain top situation is not really what it's all cracked up 2 B when was doing the Purple Rain tour had a lot of people who knew 'll never c again @ the concerts.just screamin n places they thought they was suppose 2 scream." |

Thanks for sharing that. You were very blessed to see his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel and Arsenio! I thought he looked great that night and very healthy too.I recently saw the unaired after show and noticed that Prince had some sound difficulties with his guitar during Take Me With You and had Andy sing while he tried to correct the problem.I believe Dr Funk said that she and the band played If I Was King for her segment but it never aired. I remember that they both played at Sayers Club after. |

Yes! I remember that issue he had with the sound. Yes! Andy & The new reformed NPG did play 'If I Was King' and another song. If I'm not mistaken I think Kirk was on the skins. I personally didn't feel like Andy fit as lead of that funky new NPG band on that segment. She was WAY in over her head with them. But it was very well rehearsed with Prince's obvious influence. Her later solo acoustic tour fit her style much better. She comes off more as a folk singer to me. I remember someone else on the Org commenting, at the time, that "Prince never took his eyes off Andy" on the Jimmy Kimmel set. If I'm not mistaken, pink, these Bossip paparazzi shots were taken as they were leaving the Sayers Club on the night of October 24, 2012. Their Jimmy Kimmel Live performance was earlier.

Andre Cymone(whom I'm a big supporter of and was virtually ignored by the Prince community before Prince transitioned). reunited on stage with Prince that night at The Sayers Club(which is a very relaxed, small classy club). I think that's why Prince brought out the cut "Dance Electric" on Kimmel earlier that day. Yes,I remember those being posted here and Bossip thought that Andy was Esperanza Spalding. That must be the hoodie that Dr F said Andy was "clowning" Prince for wearing at the Sayers Club and he said they were play fighting about. |

Yes. I wish fans would be a little bit more understanding with Manuela. She seems like a cool person and I love what she does for children. It seems like she wanted a family and to become a mother VERY badly and I do believe her and Prince were trying to start a family. However, if his addiction to painkillers was growing that must have been heartbreaking for her to make some tough decisions for HER life. I think her love/friendship with Prince was genunine and she was a good influence on him. I have a lot of respect for her that she put the needs over her potential, future children over any other decision she could have made, watching her husband's usage getting worse. I agree. I like Mani as well and I liked she and Prince together.I'm seeing things differently, now that I have more of an understanding of what was going on with Prince and what those who were close to him were possibly dealing with. |

I don't want to see this thread derailed with a debate about Mani; however, I will say that I think there are many sides to Mani...and, I daresay, not all of them are nice.
Still, I hasten to add that I loved his look when he was with her. The suits were a good, "grown-man" look for him. Musicology also occurred during their marriage, so we know that at least one good thing came out of it. Now, that said, I hope that can be the end of the M2 detour on this thread, for as I said, I don't want it to veer off the rails. Peace. |

Yep! I did like Andy with the band she had last year though. They had a nice jazz/neo soul vibe.Horns tend to drown out her vocals. |

I agree. I like Mani as well and I liked she and Prince together.I'm seeing things differently, now that I have more of an understanding of what was going on with Prince and what those who were close to him were possibly dealing with. I agree Pinkcashmire23. |

You're welcome! She isn't listed as a performer in Louisville but she did perform with him in Baltimore and in Washington DC.
Do you mean JH performed at the benefit concert for Freddie Gray? |

Yes.That is the only performance in Baltimore in 2015 listed on Prince Vault. I knew that Eryn Allen Kayne performed but I didn't know that Judith did as well. She sang As Trains Go By. I thought her rendition of Green Garden was great in Detroit and Prince sang a bit of You're The One at the end. [Edited 5/8/18 13:31pm] |
