So are you asking of Chris Moon was a gigolo stranded in the south of France trying to fuck his way back to Miami?
Uh, no. Y'all really stretchin' lately.
Prince's references to Moon in those years were obvious, but only a playful nudge. On that note that Moon mentioned, there is actually more. There is a crested moon at the bottom of the page. Christopher. Moon. You think Prince didn't know how to get a hold of Chris Moon, and that Prince had to leave a mysterious note in a major motion picture just to get in touch with him????
Prince used to joke that he could have someone whisper, "I think Prince is here," and that Moon would turn around on a dime and look for him. They had a nice friendship back then. In more recent weeks, Moon sought to auction off his tapes of "Soft and Wet", among other things.
Prince wasn't leaving mysterious messages to Moon in a movie. That is the stuff of Shelley Duvall and Randy Quaid.
But no doubt he may have borrowed the first name. He used it in songwriting, too. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

He LOVED to signal at people. And loved to be signaled back at too. I know of a few of them from the last two years he lived, but I'm not getting into it until a certain insider does their cash-in thing first. |

It's just a big poetic image no? A blood moon being a dramatic eclipse (with all the connatations that come with that) and making love/dying are the biggest things you can do, so to do either or both them under the blood/cherry moon is an act of absolute passion. You can extrapolate all sorts of things from it, and I think Prince probably liked the idea of people doing that, but my own belief would be that he had no literal 1:1 meaning he wanted people to take. |

It does seem he had a lot of thoughts about the musical ideals though
In Minneapolis there is a sculpture of a big cherry on a spoon in a park
The whole Venus (de Milo) goddess thing was all in there too |

Under the Cherry Spoon eh? It was put up in 1985 apparently and the song was recorded April 1985 so I guess it's not beyond the realms of possibility that they were the original lyrics |
