She will be answering questions about an ex-huband she admits not having spoken to in ten years. What is worth $25 that isn’t in her book? No More Haters on the Internet.

She will be answering questions about an ex-huband she admits not having spoken to in ten years. What is worth $25 that isn’t in her book? We have done these q & a session all over Europe and there was PLENTY to speak about.....you sure you dont have anything to ask her about her years with him or without him? I am sure there is something you want to know. From what I learned, an hour and a half dont seem to be enough time. But like i said previously, nobody is pressuring you to spend the 25.00 to join in. THis is a decision that is ALL YOURS.

itll be interesting watching her dodge sensitive questions...

She certainly can talk about the years she was with him.

It's not the talking that is raising eyebrows. It is the fact that she is staging this Stageit event--which could be streamed from her house or hotel room with nothing more than the webcam on her laptop--and charging $25 per person on the internet...just to talk about Prince, the man who divorced and ex-communicated her almost two decades ago...and who even tried to annul the marriage. Basically, depending on how many grieving Prince fams fork over the money, she stands to rake in a HUGE booty. No pun intended.

AND???
Heck how much is Kim charging for her Diamond and Curlz gig?
| |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Do you mean the gig where Kim will be doing hair, make-up, eyelashes, etc.? I think she's charging about $250, which is a steal for a makeover, even one done by Laquita down at the local JC Penney at the mall, let alone a stylist to the stars.

I am sure I am the minority. But as far as I am concerned we are all lucky to have lived in the same time as this musical genius. In my lifetime, there has never been anyone like him (I am almost 50), and there probably never will.
This history needs to be documented whether it is via Books, Q and A, whatever, by whomever had legitmiate dealings, relationships (perssonal or business) or friendships with him. While some people may not have good intentions and are out for a money grab, at the end of the day, maybe we learn more and more about Prince that we never knew. I would read every book that I can get my hands on. I know maybe not all is 100% accurate, but somethings must be. I'm interested in his music, how he recorded, and of course as a person.
I am not buying a ticket, but I am honest and would be curious what she would say. WHile he was alive I was just into the music only. But now that he is not here, I want to know as much about Prince as I can.

Go do some research into stageit....not free and its a great platform....do you get upset when the NPG or Revolution charge extra for a meet and greet added on to a ticket? Come on, you know you have a problem with MAYTE, not the process. Nobody is being forced to buy a ticket for 25.00.....thats completely a decision based upon if people want to watch it. I know a lot of people want to come that cant afford to come to Minneapolis due to not being able to afford it. I think 25.00 is a bargain for a LIVE event that you can interact with her. And its not all about Prince...i am sure there are things you would want to ask too.....behind the scenes questions of different shows that SHE performed with him in. So please stop trying to knock mayte due to your own personal feelings toward her for whatever reason. We appreciate those people who are going to be part of this SPECIAL event.

You're right: Stageit is a great platform. Of course, it's not free, but the rates are not exorbitant, either. Their fee scale is pictured below. The more tickets you sell, the higher your percentage, which ranges from 63% - 83%. So, at the high end, if the artist grosses 500,000 notes, which equals $50,000 total, the artist's share (83%) would be $41,500 for, in this case, an hour and a half of chopping it up about Prince.

[Edited 4/6/18 14:05pm] This is a complete guess, but I am guessing there will be 200 - 300 people. That means the numbers and money you have suggested is WAY more than the hypothesis you suggested. It would be closer to 50,000 - 75,000 notes. [Edited 4/6/18 14:43pm]

I believe if the event sells out,the performer can also provide more tickets up until show time.At least that's been the case with others I've attended. Thanks for posting that.I wondered how they determined how much the artist made from the show.Viewers can also tip the artist throughout the show so they make more money that way. I always wondered about the payment deal, as well. This kind of arrangement is the future. Big stars (or ex-spouses of deceased big stars) can make loads of money, without the expense of touring (or the physical exertion of belly dancing). For instance, if Mayte sells only 2,000 tickets, she will pocket $41,500 for 1 and a half hour answering questions about her ex-husband who divorced her almost two decades ago. Really, the sky is the limit, what with Prince's grieving fans being even more emotional than usual during the week of April 21. Lawd only knows how many tickets, Mayte will sell. And, that doesn't include tips. Thanks for that reminder, pink!

I had no idea a performer could make that much money with StageIt.Not bad for an hour or so.I wonder if StageIt limits the number of tickets provided. [Edited 4/6/18 16:42pm]

I seriously doubt it. I mean, why would they? In essence, they would be limiting their own profit. I would think that the only limit is bandwidth.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
True and the time limit. They have the allotted time, then StageIt cuts the broadcast.

Sounds like a pretty cool platform! Knock it out of the park, Mayte!!

I am only letting 100 people join in due to the fact i want to get as many questions answered as possible. Its not fair to let 200 in and most people not get a chance to ask a question. SO i will NOT be putting more tickets on sale after the 100 are gone. SO we are not gonna make 50,000.00 as you say.

Actually, it’d be $5,000 USD. Minus the StageIt fees. If she’s onlu accepting half that number of people, she’s looking at making $2,500 minus the fees. It’s really not much.

FOTW, It seems like you have an axe to grind toward Mayte because you keep carrying on about her to the exclusion of other associates and former significant others of Prince’s. She is more than just his ex-wife...she was/is the mother of his only child, she inspired quite a few of Prince’s/’s songs, and she was a member of the NPG for several years. . Paisley Park has invited her to this year’s Celebration festivities. She is on good terms with Sheila E. and BrownMark, among others, and a friend of Shelby J’s. Sheila E. personally invited Mayte to participate in the BET tribute in July 2016. . Prince had 15+ years during which he could have created a non-disclosure/privacy agreement with Mayte and paid her to keep quiet about the various facets of their relationship. He did not enact the aforementioned measures. He had the money and the intelligence to do so, but he did not do it. Live 4 Love ~ Love is God, God is love, Girls and boys love God above

I have no ax to grind with Mayte. I just call 'em like I see 'em. Perhaps I should not have watched Celebrity Exes.

I'm not exactly sure how to take your comment but....yeah, it'll be interesting maybe to watch a person who asked an insensitive question squirm in embarassment afterwards. I hardly think it'll be so interesting to hear Mayte simply say she's not comfortable answering a certain question, or just flat out saying she won't comment about something. An old soul
