Two thoughts:

• I ain't sayin' she's a gold digger...
• she inspired better music than Mayte. Especially the break up music (The Dance, Fury, etc.)!

“The Dance”....try again. It wasn’t inspired by her.

You try again. The first version may have been for Mayte, but he added a little something extra for Mani on the 3121 version: "I can find another just like you anywhere." He was so cold he reused a song for the first wife to diss the second one.

They’re both so young here. Mani isn’t even fully developed yet. They both grew so much into man and woman during this union. Prince’s look changed drastically from the Mayte years through the end of the Mani years.
