The Beautiful Ones video edited with Vanity Here is TBOs video with Vanity edited in (spliced scenes from the movie Never Too Young To Die). I found it about a year ago. It's fanmade but genius. How it should've been.

I agree. Kudos to whoever made it, though I wish her face was more clear. My favorite is the ending with her walking out, shaking her head at his laying on the stage. I could totally picture her having done that in real life.

This is nice. I wish the footage was a little clearer, especially of Vanity. She was so beautiful. And I did not get to see a lot of footage of her walking or her movements when she was just being herself.

Knowing that Prince wrote The Beautiful Ones about/for Vanity makes this video so special. I was blown away when he admitted almost 2 years ago that The Beautiful Ones was for her. The way he felt for her even 30 years later is so special. I am so glad he shared that with the public. It was such a gift. . All the women in between and noone ever replaced the space in his heart for Vanity. She was still the ONE, The Beautiful One. The one The Kid feel in love with and wanted in his life. It is nice to know they kept in touch and were special friends for decades. . Thanks for posting the video.

Agreed. After all this time, I believe that what Prince always wanted (but may not have known it) was someone who would let him feel safe being real. I believe that Mayte much more than anyone, then Vanity, were the closest he ever got to this, but I donât believe he ever really fully had it, or lastingly. [Edited 2/9/18 15:47pm]

[Edited 2/9/18 15:47pm] I think Prince was a strong spirit and did not need a woman to feel safe. I do not want to get in any debate but Denise was the one who complimented him the most. Her life paralleled his and she was simply living her life not trying to appease Prince. Denise was living for Jesus and simply being Denise. . This video/thread celebrates the uniquemess of Denise. She was herself. She complimented him always even their deaths. . Whenever I hear The Beautiful Ones I envision them in the afterworld enjoying their friendship on the other side. nah... Prince did not seem at all like himself when he was with Mayte. In later years, Prince was more in tune with his spirituality like Denise. When he would talk to the concert goers, it was preacher-esque. That was more of his safe zone.

I believe he and Denise are in the same energy now, and itâs like, âEverythingâs okay.â I believe that Prince needed a lot of love but it was Denise who perhaps didnât need his quite as much, because she was able to leave.

Interesting. . .I think they both were on the same place in need but treated it differently. She always left. He was always left hanging. She lived her life and he followed even in death. . Good thing as you said they are sharing the other side together with no need to play secrets and break hearts and all the crazy stuff fame and money dictates.THAT is so sweet that in they have peace in the end. I couldn't have said it better Vashtix. I don't think it's that she needed it less. As it was said in her obituary, she had a hard time accepting love.

Miss TLCâ @IAmMissTLC 3h3 hours ago 35 yrs ago 2day (2/9/83), Prince asked for the keys so he could try and tame your little red love machine...on #LittleRedCorvette, the 2nd track AND 2nd single released from "1999". | #Princerversaries
Miss TLCâ @IAmMissTLC 7 Aug 2016 But perhaps the most emotional incarnation of the song is what he did with it during the #PianoAndAMicrophone tour....... Miss TLCâ @IAmMissTLC 7 Aug 2016 .......because #LittleRedCorvette was the 1st song #Prince dedicated to #Vanity during his "tribute" show in February 2016.
Miss TLCâ @IAmMissTLC 3h3 hours ago Miss TLC Retweeted Miss TLC And #LittleRedCorvette as a memorial tribute (to Vanity)... | #Princerversaries Miss TLC added, 0:30
When I heard how he morosely intro'd the song, tears fell. The sadness in the keys speaks volumes. #Prince #Vanity

And the aniversary of her transition is coming up soon and Prince's tribute to her was really beautiful especially because he doesn't like talking about his personal life etc. I didn't expect him to address it the way that he did. [Edited 2/9/18 20:00pm] Keep Calm & Listen To Prince

Thank you for this! This one of the only pics with them on stage together on stage. Love it. She's just dancing and he's following/ watching. Happy Anniversary to Little Red Corvette! Prince's dedication of it to Vanity in Melbourne the night she passed away, was so heart wrenching. The part where he says, "you know what I want.. I want you.. I want you... I do... I do.."

To expand on my original point, I was just hit with this feeling that what wouldâve made Prince not push anyone away (I truly am thinking especially of later in his life) wouldâve been someone who could let him feel safe being totally himself - with everyone.

I think the person Prince let us see onstage was a character, an image. I think he did things publicly. In my opinion Prince had a public life, private life, secret life. Clearly Denise being his friend through the decades of his life lets us know their connection never hit a demise and was secret. If anything he knew she was there as a support- she was a praying woman and people who prayed with her have shared since her death that she at times asked them to pray for Prince. . Prince was a man who loved God. He was spiritual. Denise matched and surpassed him in this way and that is why( in my opinion) she would understand and he could truly his life with her. She had no need to fake being spiritual. Denise had no need to play along ;Denise studied the Bible and prayed because that was part of her life. Studying the Bible and praying was part of Prince's life too. I imagine they shared Bible studies and prayed together as friends do. I think Prince was good. I have no pity or doubt again my opinion. Things changed after 2.15.16. Then yes he needed someone he could totally be himself with and no matter all the people in his presence there was a big hole to fill.

He never found what I am talking about. I believe he wouldnât have even known it even existed unless he fell upon it. Not having it is one of the aspects of why he continued to push people away. Prince in every relationship also had to be the boss. There was never anyone who could really âbreak him downâ.

I disagree; I think he had it . Why do you feel he did not have it? [Edited 2/10/18 5:10am]

I disagree; I think he had it and was broken down- that man changed. He had the breakdown . It was done by someone on his level an equal and not some inexperienced person or crazy person or someone and trying for their own piece of the crown .He had it in my opinion. He knew it too per his songs. It was deep. . Why do you feel he did not have it? He wanted it... He knew something like it existed... But he never found anyone with a spirituality (not just belief) so strong (much stronger than his and totally new to him) that he felt safe enough allowing himself to not push them away. This is the sad story. He knows it exists now though.

He found it. I truly believe it. I look at him like this- private life/public life/secret life. When he sings TBOs he knew then he found it. He was in his 20s. He took the long and winding road. That song The Long and Winding Road says a lot about our life and Prince was blessed to live and learn. He died at 57. . His story is so not sad to me. It is glorious.

I saw Denise on TBN a few years ago and I was so impressed by what God had done in her life.I remember thinking how great it would be if Prince had still had her in his life and I was pleased to learn that they had been keeping in touch and remained friends.I don't think they still had romantic feelings for each other but had developed a friendship that surpassed the physical.I feel that he was hinting that he was in a relationship by a few of his Twitter posts. He posted an animated gif and one drawing looked to be of he and Judith Hill and since it was revealed that they were dating I wondered if it was his way of cryptically revealing it to everyone.

I never believed in any of the women he showed in public. For whatever reason Prince and Denise were close friends. She outlasted all of the women and when she transitioned he soon followed. Whatever was on earth did not have the same pull for him. He left. He and Denise are on the other side - spirits freely enjoying the companionship they had to secretly enjoy on earth.

I'm glad Prince and Denise had a friendship that lasted through the decades. They seemed to be living parallel lives. I agree that he was hinting here and there that he was in a relationship in later years but this post below says that most likely it was not Judith or any of the women around him at that time. He was private and probably keeping it quiet. No shame there. It is who Prince was- private.
