Happy Birthday to The Finest Woman in the World - Denise Vanity Matthews Still cannot believe she is gone but today is a day to remember the fabulousness of Denise Vanity Matthews. She was wearing lace gloves, lingerie as an outfit and wedding ensembles long before Madonna made it mainstream. . Vanity was the perfect one to capture the female image of Prince; the perfect partner for that magical time . . . her Nasty Girl with his Rude Boy had the public talking and buzzing for more of the smouldering beauty and white hot sexiness of them together. . She showed us all that life is a journey and owned her mistakes but never blamed, was bitter or tried to make excuses she just lived . She lived with a love of life, and people and especially Jesus. She shared her faith and it amazes me that she was so real with it and did not waver. . . for this I thank her. . It is only fitting to recognize the day she landed on planted earth via the birth channel. She changed pop culture forever and many lives for the better via her faith and love of Jesus and for that it is only fitting to recognize her for the amazing person she was for those 57 short years. . As Prince said she was ". . . . the finest woman in the world . . . . "
Happy Birthday Denise . . . The Beautiful One .

It is hard to believe sheβs gone and I donβt think that will change no matter how many birthdays come and go. Thoughts, prayers, and blessings to her family and friends as they celebrate a life that touched many!

She really loved that mirrored, discoball-looking trenchcoat.

Gone too soon; united with Prince again in heaven.

Miss TLC Retweeted Miss TLC 59 years ago today, a stunning woman w a beautiful soul & a smile that could light up the whole entire world was born. Her name was Denise Katrina Matthews, but you may know her as Vanity. | #HappyBirthdayVanity Miss TLC added,
I've said it a million times before, but I'll say it again. Vanity inspired me greatly throughout my life & taught me so much about presence & allure. Her sweet yet sexy vibe, her ability to act silly OR seductive, her sass, her self-awareness & her drive were all to be admired. She had a powerful presence, yet didn't seem unapproachable. She came off as fun & friendly & read (to me) as very down-to-earth. Granted, I didn't grow up in the Vanity 6 era, but I went back & revisited her interviews/movies/music in the 90s. And by the turn of the millenium, she played an integral part of my social media identity. "Nasty Girl" was the only song that ever played when you clicked into my MySpace profile, and this was my permanent AIM icon: I understood why men fell at her feet. She was incredibly gorgeous, but her good-natured spirit seemed to shine even more than her modelesque looks. Tho "Nasty Girl" sounded intimidating, SHE never gave off a haughty "I'm better than you" vibe (like many IG-famous models today). I was enamored with the fact that the girl from the toothpaste commercial who sang about "Vibrator"s, had "Orgasm"s in the studio & demanded "7 inches or more" just acted like a regular ol' cute girl on MTV. So again, blessings & good vibes in recognition of my dear friend (in my head) Vanity. She will forever inspire me. She was magic. | #HappyBirthdayVanity Keep Calm & Listen To Prince
