AGREED!!!!! Mark Brown stated years ago that the Revolution largely reinterpreted the albums, as prince usually went in a recorded them by himself. for the most part. I will acknowledge that i feel there were certain levels of influence and collaboration between Prince and The Revolution, but ultimately it was his show and he ran it completely. Further, based on clips i've viewed, i feel like the NPG's live shows are considerably better than the Revolution's. I also find it interesting that the NPG situation seems much more INCLUSIVE, embracing a wider range of people who worked with Prince, most notably Andre Cymone. Sheila's tribute was also more inclusive as well. The Revolution has had some guests like Stokely, Rob Bacon, Susanna and maybe Eric Leeds, but largely, it's just the Revolution. I do find it interesting that they have never reached out to Jill Jones for vocal support and Sheila E., considering the fact that they were all in the mix together in the 80's. But, i do remember either Wendy or Lisa bulking at the "Counter-Revolution", so how they roll now is't surprising. Finally, like it or not, Prince's bands got better and better after the Revolution, so Jill's Milli Vanilli comment isn't that off base.

I don't even fault the 2 guys. They were led to believe that 'act' would be short lived and they would be able to do their own thing. They could actually sing, but their heavy German accents was the issue. The guys had the showmanship for the part, and it is sad how things turned out. That Rob Pilatus committed suicided made this example even worse.
