Mayte is doing the belittling not me. Who did Prince talk to his child about? Did he talk to you or someone you know? We have no idea who he talked to. We know he did not discuss this matter in detail in any interview at that time or at a later date. We did not even find out the name of the child from him. This is what I mean by delusional. You are literally making up stuff as you go along.
Nobody outside of the fanbase cared about this women until she appeared on the scence after his death and then decided to put out a book on the anniversity of his death.

Your hearing or comprehension must be slightly off because any time Prince speaks about the first time he saw her, he says that HE said “there’s my future wife”. He probably said it jokingly but it actually came to pass. I never said she “missed out” on Cairo. He asked her to join the NPG and SHE made the decision to join instead of going to Cairo because he made a place for her in his band and moved the others out. There is no spin, only truth. | |

. It was all over the tabloids in Spain that Mayte was seen in public with that spanish dancer. I would have to research the article, but she never denied that they were indeed an item. Mayte and Prince were not together at the time, so they were both seeing other people. It's not a big deal, really. If two people are not together, then it can't be considered they are cheating. But, I do think Prince was the one who wanted out, not Mayte.

. Yeah, I agree. That statement he made was weird. It's like, he was trying to justify the end of his marriage in his head. Prince did have a strange way of dealing with his relationship troubles and business troubles as well, but M1 and M2 were not so innocent either. They enjoyed playing the game. It takes two to tango.

Who gives a damn what a tabloid said? These same tabloids also said Prince died of AIDS. Do you believe that too? Prince and Mayte have both denied it more than once. Get with it. Prince and Mayte were together until she asked him for a divorce. | |

He says he met Mayte in 1990 in Europe. Then both tell how she was “dragged” to a Prince concert in Barcelona, Spain, by her mother and sister. While watching the artist perform for the first time, she says she felt a “familiarity” with him. Two weeks later the Artist saw her in a crowd (with her mother) from the window of his car in Germany. “There’s my future wife,” he told Rosie Gaines, who was with him. A short time later he met the young woman he admired from afar after his friend and associate producer Kirk Johnson gave him Mayte’s videotape. “On it was a photo of her as a belly dancer,” he recalls. “She was 16. I fell in love.”
Mayte joined his New Power Generation band as a dancer and singer, but the relationship started out as platonic. “Mayte has been my best friend for years and years; she is the, only person who showed me no malice,” he says, adding that it was as though he was engulfed by a universal knowledge or awareness. “That was when I realized that I was in love with her, with everything about her, in love with the process itself. Somebody discovered this thing [love]; whoever did was a genius. I fell on my knees and said `thank you’ [to God].
For the record, he's not Italian, he's a black man. He lied about being half Italian in an interview in the early 80's before you ever existed apparently.

. Prince had an image to uphold and that was his first priorty. When he started having marital problems with M1 and M2; he wanted to clean house as soon as possible. When M2 wanted out, he gave her enough to shut her up, so he could move on with his life. I don't think he was a heartless bastard at all, as some people claim. To him, it was business and he had to protect his finances. M2 is happy with what she got, I'm sure. Prince said he didn't like drama, so it was his style to move on and not hang onto the past and what was.

First of all, the marital problems he had with Mayte Garcia were created by his infidelity and the emotional distress of losing a child. Secondly, he wanted out of his second marriage. That’s the reason he locked his wife out of their home a year before she filed for the divorce. | |

. I already know why Prince and Mayte divorced. Mayte already knew of his cheating ways before she married him, so not sure what your point is. I know they lost a child. M2 filed for divorce, not Prince. He did not contest it.

When did this denial take place? I only remember Prince addresing his issues with M1 once in "The Paper" interview and he was not real nice about it. He was seeing that Crazy House Saloon women and that was not a secret.

. It was my understanding that Prince married M2 because she converted to the JW? Otherwise, I don't think they would have married. I've only read that Prince did not want the divorce. If Prince was following his faith, then yes, he would not have been the one to file.

. The only statement I have read came from Mayte; dismissing her romantic involvement with Joaquin Cortes. I've never read a statement from Prince regarding this. If someone has this info, I would be interested in reading it. Just because Prince and Mayte were at a dinner with Joaquin, doesn't really tell us much. . .
