I don’t believe that to be true that he sent her to Spain because their marriage was over but he was cheating after they bought the home.

I'm not obsessed with her, but the haters obviously are. And I know these Videos and they're bullcrap. —Actually they are not bullcrap. They put her lies right out on front street. If you are goi g to spill Prince’s business in the street to get a few dollars well she can have her business out in the street as well. [Edited 12/17/17 18:55pm]

They clearly had an open marriage; he never stopped seeing others and yes she will not admit but I am sure she was not sitting home looking at the walls. Clearly? First of all, an open relationship means that both parties agree that it is acceptable to see people outside of their marriage. Secondly, did you miss the 2 or 3 interviews he did in 1999 where he said he was very possessive of his wife and didn’t like men to touch his wife? In one of the interviews he even threatened violence on a man touching her with inappropriate thoughts. What about that says, yes, we can have an open marriage? [Edited 12/17/17 15:45pm] And to add that crazy interview he did on the view with Lisa Ling And Star Jones where he goes on about that m1 does not belong to him And that marriages are contracts and you don’t need that to be connected. When you watch him saying it, you can’t help but be shocked and disappointed At how he is trying to wiggle out of marriage. That had my jaw hanging open.

—Because she knew he was a cheater when they were dating and she went along with it so what is she going to say now without looking like a bigger fool then she was for putting up with it in the first place. I honestly do not know what planet some of you live on. You are not obsessed with someone when you plan on cheating on them from the jump. I’m thinking people mean he was obsessed with “having” her not obsessed “with her” That is how his obsession seem to look from the outside it was all about the getting and having and acquiring. And far less the obsessive love ‘I need to be with you every second night and day or I’ll die’ type of thing. He was a woman hoarder.

Who isn't spilling Prince's business in the streets to make $$ off of him? I mean seriously it seems like every associate that he's ever had is trying to get the $$.

Yes, that's a good description. Woman hoarder.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Well he does say Mayte doesnt not belong to him...what does that imply? Maybe he was tried of being possessive and exhausted and wanted someone to take care of him and kick his ass and keep him in line.. Maybe he didn't know how to take care of his wife because he didn't know how to take care of his himself and was making excuses for ending a marriage that seemed to painful to maintain. Did she not admit that she was not always there for him? I really wish we could have heard his side of the story in a way that wasn't cryptic and lacking specifics. Prince seemed like a man torn down the middle at times (but too stubborn to admit it)...thus the gemini personality contrasts.
Do you folks think it was as simple as woman hoarding where Mayte was concerned? Woman hoarding is easy for a rock star -- just get a groupie or gold digger. It took waiting to have sex and dealing with her gold-digging mother to be with Mayte and writing songs that made excuses for her youth. I think its funny that Prince is only rock star to date a barely legal woman and then try to make the world not mad at him by writing songs with lyrics "is age more than a number when it comes to love". the Rolling Stones didn't give a shit about dating teenagers...LOL.

At first, it appeared he was obsessed with needing her by his side. He said she helped him through a very dark moment in his life. Keep in mind the length of time they were together prior to getting married and when they married, he said he didn’t feel comfortable doing interviews without her by his side, hence the reason he’d pull her into a room and sit beside him to do an interview or even pull her on stage to sit beside him during live interviews. But let’s not forget their relationship changed drastically after the loss of their son and the miscarriage. They both were significantly affected by it. If you were around, you should recall how he’d would pretend Mayte was at home tending to their son. Then came the weird posts he’d put up on his website about birth defects, diet, etc. All of these things contributed to the issues they faced. Most people either forget it or don’t have an understanding how something as tragic as losing a child can affect a relationship. Not to mention, when asked about the demise of his relationship, he denied it up until she asked him for a divorce in early 2000. As a couple, the last interview they did together was in February 2000, where he clearly implied they’d be together forever. If there was any doubt about the stability of their marriage in his mind, he wouldn’t have done the interview with her nor would he allow questions about his marriage to be asked. I don’t believe he thought she was courageous enough to leave him and ask for a divorce despite what he was or was not doing and, furthermore, probably shocked when he realized she wasn’t coming after his wealth.

I think his saying she doesn’t belong to him, was what it turned out to be. He wanted out. Seemed like Mayte was trying to take care of him. Now he chose a woman child for the job so he would need to let her catch up if he wanted a level of care that would have reflected what his peers( Larry) were getting. She needed time to be that type of companion. Yes I wish for his honest side too. I think woman hoarding kinda fits.

Prince was not into that M1 marriage- it seems he played mind games on many women and that includes his wives.

Why? Was he just a bastard who liked to fuck with people for shits and giggles? Was it just his ego? Seems like a lot of effort to just stroke an ego?

I think mostly cause he got away with it. Each player allowed the spoiling to Continue.

True she would need to catch up. But you are forgetting that religious fanaticism also got in the way of their connection. IF he was gung-ho about his belief in his new faith (one of second resurrections, reincarnations etc) and his wife was not on board, maybe he thought the marriage was unfixable. I am not saying he was right. But people do a lot of judging prince on this site without giving the man the benefit of the doubt--a mind-fucker, woman-hoarder? But why? Demonizing Prince to sympathize with Mayte is not really going to get anyone closer to understanding the man this website is about.

So he was a bastard who like to fuck with people for shits and giggles? You answered why he was able to CONTINUE doing it. You didn't answer why he did it in the first place.

Explain this analogy please? Do you think Michael's Neverland was a place in which a predator molested boys. Or do you think Neverland was a place where a man who was emotionally stunted lived a fantasy life?

What was so great about the way she wrote the book? Do you understand Prince's motives any better or what she saw in him? Or do you just sympathize with her?

So Prince was Peter Pan from Never never land...is that what you mean? Delusional? Insular? Child-like? When you said Prince had a neverland too even though it was different--I couldn't help but think you were talking about MJ's neverland ranch..its an understandable assumption , is it not?

Ummm to be clear I like all his women. I appreciate them all I have never bad mouthed one of them anywhere here ever. Now I will say I frankly State what I feel was off about anyone of them equally. All I’m saying is I like that she didn’t go after his money. And I have no problem with her book, her writing it or how she told her story in it. I do think she was nuts to ever marry a cheater.

Yes and M1 knew it. Carmen was the woman when M1 showed up and Nona was around too- M1 never had him exclusively-what she did have was a baby. Much respect to the pregnancy. It is sort of sad in a way.

Ok i didn't want to be thrown into one of those protege camps that I hear Exist. I was worried when you said “ do I just sympathize with her” Made me nervous. Ok good now onward. Oh perhaps the two thumbs up was over zealous. Just saying that I’m ok with the book I read it, thought she was speaking her side which I think her right. I didn’t like the timing of it at all!!! That was tacky. To me any memoirs shouldnt be coming out till 3 yr after 4/21. But If her mama set her up to gold dig mayte didn’t in the divorce and I respect that. To me that action shows love/care. I like that action she did with that decision.
