"For Love" (Prince & Jill Jones) extended version...what is it?

I just listened to an extended version (10:37 playing time) MP3 of "For Love", the Jill Jones song.

http://www.princevault.com/index.php?title=For_Love

They list several versions, but none of them are this long. Perhaps its the "Everybody's Jam" version?

There are various percussion sounds and horns (not sure I hear any congas though!). But there are also plenty of vocals throughout the track.

It doesn't sound like a jam session. If it originated as such, then there's been some overdubbing, etc.

So, what do I have here? Is it the version that originated during "Everybody's Jam"? Or something else?

^ That's the version I have.

However, the track lists for the two 12" singles (the promo and the released "maxi" single) show the longest version being 7:24. Which is about three minutes shorter. hmmm So I'm still not sure what this is?

This is not from the 12". It sounds like a "mix" of the 4-Play Remix & the Bonus Beats tracks, both of which are on the 12".

I was thinking it might be a fan remix or something. Its still cool though.

"For Love" is a good song but here's my only problem with it.The song doesn't really showcase Jill's awesome vocal talent. She's singing in a low register and also does alot of Prince-inspired yelping throughout.I always felt that "My Man" should have been released as a single instead.

I have this 10mn version and had created a thread asking the very same question many years ago. No one had any idea and no one could tell but everyone agreed on the fact that neither an official release nor an outtake existed that was that long so we all assumed it was fanmade , though it doesn't sound fanmade at all. If it is here's another example of how wrong those fanmade mixes are, getting confused with genuine material.
I hope maybe this thread will solve this mystery, if anyone knows something please tell.

I'm pretty sure the Everybody's Jam version is a new addition to Princevault. Very strange. I can't hear it in the tracks that have surfaced, can anyone? Could it be Princevault had access to more tapes?

-- Do not take offense but what is wrong with commenting about the quality of the vocal on the song that the OP is asking about? How is that derailing the topic? Discussions do not flow in a straight line and no one is mentioning great tasting Mac and Cheese.
