Hmmmmm I don't know Donald Trump or him in real life, but I have been judging. I think people really do go by actions. Some people obviously can tolerate a man like him. I think people have their own barometers for when actions are prudent and when they are less so.

BUT you can see/here a LOT about Donald Trump. You can watch documentaries on Donald Trump and his family beginnings, Donald Trump is always talking and tweeting (Even before he became President) He's been on how many seasons of Celebrity Apprentice? You can read on Donald Trump and his throughts and actions over his whole life.

.
You or Laurarichardson cannot say that about Susannah Melvoin, even 10%

.

You would have to have so much more to weight it on. Some associate artist we know almost nothing on, and other a LOT. Example Sheila E is always in an interview or a show has written a book etc Rhonda Smith almost nothing.

I recall Prince on the View with Van Jones and Rosaria Dawson...

He was asked

"What do you think of Lady Gaga"

he replied

"I dont know, Id have to meet her !"

He did the same about 'Britney Spears' I believe that was the pop star mentioned in 1998/99

He seemed to become so much more 'protective' of entertainers over time.

Speaking of passing judgement on others.....I would guess that Prince hesitated to get treatment for his addiction to opioids because he understood that the public would pass judgement on him (to include his character, stance on "drug" use, etc.). Just let that sink in for a minute.
I feel that he would have know that a little judgement was in order, Because he fell into a trap that he once considered intolerable. Unless Of course if he came forward and said hey I was intolerant in the past, but Now I see it can happen to anyone, then I think the judgement wouldn't Have been as severe.

I do not think he was intolerent. He paid for his sister to go to rehab and a few band members. He did not want drugged out band members ruining his music or business. I believe Andre Cymone said when they were young they did not want to screw up like Sly.

It is also a big different between taking drugs for recreational purposes like Sly and taking them for pain management never mind if you get hooked on them or not.

It would not have been anyone's business anyway and Prince was never sharing is personal life with the world with exception of the Emancipation project and that did not go well.

At the end of the day what would telling the world have done? Would telling the world solve his problems of joint pain.

If you understand the rules of the Org that we all agreed to in order to join and you/we still choose to be here, then we know it isn't censorship.

But again, this has nothing to do with the topic. If you want to start a debate, do so in the Site Discussion forum.

Where does one end and one begin?

Which actions since Prince's death feel the most like a balance of both making some money/getting attention and a pride about their time with Prince/appreciation for the man and his music??

What actions since Prince's death feel the most like the actions of people who care little-to-nothing for the man or his legacy and much more for themselves?

[Edited 9/27/17 4:57am]

Anytime you don't care more for yourself, than pretty much anybody other than maybe your kids, you are phukkin up in imo. With that said... I expect working musicians to chase a dollar. Prince employed some of the best in the world so I don't have a problem with most of them 'keeping the music alive'. With that said egos have gotten out of control, in some cases, so clearly some tacky shti is happening, but I ain't too worried about it, because bad taste, bad decisions and wackness has a way of taking care of itself.

my is point he has a whole community(he won) who don't see any of his remarks, videos, actions

as rude. Just because we don't happen to need a slue of items in order to decern someone doesn't

always make a person wrong, sometimes it means they maybe more atune. You seem like

you probably had people in your life perhaps a grandma or grandpa who said "baby stay away from

them i can feel or sense they are bad news" and perhaps lo and behold your wise elder was correct.

I think within certain peoples lies a age old sensing mechanism that is ancient as the wind and can be passed

on to the next generations but in our world we want to ignore such ancient feelings and wisdoms because we have gotten brash and think we know better and those old ways of listening to our internal selves is silly.

all i am saying OFFS is that if we could meet in the middle. i can't say all 100 percent of Trump is bad

nor can i say that about anyone who chooses to sell their items. but i can go with my feelings in regards to their actions, which i am doing in both cases. I can't say Prince didn't love his women, but his ACTIONS said otherwise to me.

U have to have something substantial to go on. Because everything else is just feelings.
We can still point to stuff LOTS of stuff over his whole life with Donald Trump.

Like him being hypocritical about the 'taking a knee' thing yet since he started running we have many examples of him not placing his hand over his heart during the National Anthem. or Pledge

.

Yes there are intuitions, BUT with women(who are doing the harshest judging) the sensitivity can be overboard. Especially when it is clear they don't say much about the men.

.

We have to have something more substantial to go on with 'Associate Artists' then how we feel and who are favorite female protege in connection to Prince is.

.

And there is a hypocracy with Prince fans too, (especially a lot of ladies) who in regular life if a man juggled women around and did some of the thing Prince did concerning women they would be crucified, but Prince gets a pass and the lady fans blame the women (well women do that in general life too)

Why should I care to address a bunch of accusations against the site over 1 members time on such an oppressive site? Did that member according to the site rules they agreed to reach out to the Moderator(s) in connection to the thread being censored in the time period it was done?
We don't do this 4 $$.

Because if Laurarichardson wants to address it, as I suggested, she/he can do it in the proper forum, in the proper way according to site rules. This thread is not where the discussion goes.
If a Mod snipped this part of the thread, we would be accused of 'censorship'.

As I said, it is off topic, Laurarichardson can create a thread on Censorship in the P&R forum and the Site Management forum.

So we are going to help get this thread back on the topic Purplerabbithole intended it for. Not censorship or Andy Allo

yes let's!!

i think it is too soon for anyone to sell a thing, it seems callous to me. i am fine after 5 yrs.

anything under 3 for a man who was so loved is callous, IMO. But if we are gonna be ok with

folks selling stuff, then lets be ok with impersonators, cover bands and the like, it is just selling his stuff too. IMO

But as we've seen with Prince and so many others famous or not, death waits for no one to get their house in order. We cannot grace anyone with 3-5yrs to live. And then these things are lost in time.

What does Prince's death have to do with these finacially desperate people not having their house in order? Some should be lost because they are straight garbage. Some should go to the Paisley Park on his family.

The African-American Smithsonian has so many artifacts being donated they can hardly keep up with it all. What if no one donated to that faciity because of greed instead of sharing what they have with the world.

Prince figurtively gave a lot of people the shirt off his back and these folks want to keep on riding the gravey train.

Look at the PRN Alumni who are raising money for charity in Prince's name and look at these people.

I think giving things to museums is Legacy Building.
I think selling things in an auction to random people is the opposite of Legacy building.

Too simple.

Everything might not be something a Museum would care for. Or see any significance in.

You are look at it all as a female Prince fan who adores Prince.

yes it is simple, very simple indeed. those are the steps to take to BUILD a legacy.

1. donate to museum

2. museum curates the items

3. let museum call you if they don't want the stuff

4. then be greedy

so again i say I think giving things to museums is Legacy Building. I think selling things in an auction to random people is the opposite of Legacy building.

You have been in musuems where they have a shard of cracked pottery the size of a quarter from ancient Egypt on display. most anything would be of significance. but no one will get to see any of it

cause it is gonna sit in some random collectors house.

and i am tellin you how i look at it in my own words ,up above, but your not hearing my words.

no i can't, but i couldn't do that 20 years ago either when they were holding on to the stuff. they
