I Guess It's All Over is the eighth and final song on Mazarati's first album Mazarati, and, around the time of the album's release, the track was included as the b-side of Player's Ball, the album's first single. The track was written by Brown Mark as We Did Things Our Way before Prince re-wrote the lyrics and renamed the song I Guess It's All Over. It was believed Prince was not involved in the track musically, but in 2017 Aaron Paul "Ace" Keith revealed that he played guitar solo on the song. While specific recording dates are not known, initial tracking took place in May 1985 at Sunset Sound, Hollywood, CA, USA, while Prince was working simultaneously in another studio in the building on the Parade album. If The Time had still been together in 1986,this is one track that would have been perfect for them.

I think Morris would have killed it vocally

Their debut album was the best Prince associated artists album in terms of consistency.

It's definitely one of the strongest associated artists' albums....and one of the funkiest.

Can you explain?
I think What Time Is It? The Glamorous Life the Family
are the top 3 in all directions
consistency, cohesive, clear vision, strong songs beginning to end etc
The one thing that stops Mazarati for being up there is I don't understand fully the 'vision' of the musical/band direction

I enjoy this album much more than The Family's album it contains the classic, funky "Minneapolis sound" that was missing from Prince's own albums at that time....lots of synths, funky basslines (courtesy of BrownMark)....listen to "Stroke",that is some hardcore funk!!
