he artist known as Chase doesn't just consider the music of Prince a way of life. It is his life. The 49-year-old Minneapolis native (whose given name is Tommy Chase) fronts Chase & Ovation, the only Prince tribute band officially sanctioned by the late superstar. They will headline Rock the District on Saturday night in Rock Island. "He is one of the greatest performers in the history of greatest performers," Chase said this week in a phone interview, noting he saw Prince play at his Paisley Park compound, often for free. "He always gave 110 percent. His worst day was better than most musicians' best day they could hope for."
