Prince's sister Sharon posted their Father's lovely song "Don't Play With Love" with a scene from Under The Cherry Moon Prince's sister Sharon Nelson posted a lovely snippet of "Don't Play With Love", the second single off the upcoming John L. Nelson Project. "The 2nd single to be released from the upcoming John L. Nelson Project is the title track "Don't Play With Love". Listen to how the track compliments the famous scene from Under The Cherry Moon. It was meant to be!" Here it is: https://m.youtube.com/wat...lmpTtXOI-A

Nice! Fits the scene perfectly.

It would have been nicer without the movie in it. Just put the damn song up so we can hear it. This ain't George Lucas tryin' to rewrite a 30 year old flick. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Latin, thanks for sharing. This is my favorite scene from the film. Unfortunately, since this is my favorite scene, it's difficult to concentrate on the actual music. I think it does compliment the scene, but the coupling does not allow me to hear/enjoy the music.

Thanks, very nice indeed Keep Calm & Listen To Prince

Just my opinion but I think Sharon did this just to try and put her dad's music over Prince's. As if her dad's music should have been the score.
I posted an interview she did a few months back and she is saying that she and Prince were collaborating on some music. I think she is delusional.

She even said on CBS morning news that she had not been inside Paisley Park so I guess this collaboration was taking place out on the sidewalk or maybe in her imagination back in New York. You should also read the court files from John's probate if you want to get an idea on how her mind works or look at that Current Affair. It is not about knowing better but using common sense. Unless you think a sister saying her brothers body is hot is normal?

Makes you wonder why didn't Prince release anything by his father...

From an artistic perspective, this is brilliant, combining his father's music with a memorable scene that fits with the music which has also been confirmed and approved by viewer feedback. After reading all your negative postings I'm sure she would say your the delusional one, always posting opinion based comments and negativity. You stay on vacation, in other words, "You Trippin" [Edited 8/16/17 21:13pm]

It is delusional to expect everyone to think alike which appears to be what you are looking for.

How did you interpret what I said to be expecting everyone to think alike? That's delusional.

You are the one that started with delusional which appears to be about me not thinking that promoting John's music with Under The Cherry Moon is a great artistic move which you seem to think is what I should agree with. If that is not what you mean then make yourself clear.
I do not think there is anything artistic about what she is doing and all she really is trying to do his promote John's work over her brother's which is what she should be doing. My opinion nothing delusional about having a opinion.
Do you want me to get down to some facts about you? As in who you are and why you just joined this board a little while ago and all your post are too promote John's music.
Because that information will not be delusional.

If you read the answers to her questions and the fact that she was living in New York she does not know much about what Prince was up to. She also said on CBS morning news that she had not been in Paisley Park prior to his death. She did not even know he was an amatuer photographer.
She keeps chatting up her Dad in her most recent comments and of course she is trying to get her jazz carreer off the ground in her 70s.
I will not even go into the comments she made when John died that are in the court file. I will not go into working with Londell and working to get him paid when he did nothing for the estate but cause lawsuits. I am not making anything up so I am not being delusional. Pretending certain things are not being done or stated is delusional.
I do not think anyone should add, change or place other music on top of Prince's work and I would think that if Prince thought his Dad's work was that good he could have easisly put out on NPG records but maybe that did not happen for a reason.

I'm excited for John's album and will buy it but, in Mayte's book she did quote Prince as saying something to the effect of (can't recall off the top of my head) "My dad keeps sending me this muisc- him banging away- I don't know what he expects me to do with it" ----
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
So we have the answer to the question.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
With so many people here reading Mayte's book I'm surprised no one has mentioned this... But, I actually, am excited for John's album because I love jazz and what I've heard I like

Quite the contrary, you are the one who made the initial delusional comment about Ms. Nelson. I have no opinion about your thoughts or what you agree with regarding art. As for your analysis of why she put her dads work with Prince's, It would probably be very safe to say that she didn't do so to put one over the other as you claim. Maybe it was simply to sho how the two totally independent pieces of art created by father and son at two different times, just so happen to go perfectly together, and after finding this out she decided to share it as a way to show the artistic connection of the two and promote her fathers project. Oh, you did say she should only be focused on releasing her brothers music, because that is what you think she should be doing right? You are very amusing , I would like to hear some of your so called facts, not sure how you've come to your inaccurate conclusions about me, but feel free to humor us.

Go read her interview. Or the interview she did for the local news in Minneapolis. She is constantly dropping in her Dad's name so she is trying to promote his work over Prince's. Since she is an heir to John's estate it could be for financial reasons as she cannot fully exploit P's catalogue at this time.
I have provide plenty of facts for why I think she is doing what she is doing and the following documents are avalible for your reading pleasure to back up my opinion. There is nothing delusional about actual documents and the very person's own words.
The pieces of work do not go together it simply is a cheap means to make a video for the song which I am sure you may have had a hand in.
She definity should be focused on her brother's music from a monetary standard. Anyone with a lick of common sense would know that the masses are interested in Prince's music not John's. Facts about Sharon that you should check out or just ask her since you work for her.
1) John's probate court docs. Thinks John's house (which was Prince's property) should be sold as the fact that he lived in it would bring in big money. People would be interested in seeing his piano and some of the instructments that Prince learned to play on with his dad) WTF 2) Local interview with Minneapolis station ( Prince and Sharon were collaborating.) LOL 3) Her interview on the org ( Where she is clueless about many things that fans know about). 4) All of her comments in the probate hearing concerning LM and his incompetent performance. 5) Mayte's book ( Where Prince was suppose to a have said " What does my Dad want me to do with his music) Does not look like he was in the least bit interested in putting out his Dad's music at all.
Now I am done with you because you are only on this board commenting on John's music and you only joined recently. No one is that interested in John's music unless some sort of financial investment has been made.
