Did they go into that much detail? All I remember reading was that Bria said he wasn't committed enough to being a JW. I don't remember their being any specific reasons why. I remember reading that the person who talked to Bria was actually talking about the JW religion.

It was not newsflash but then why bother getting married? Business deal? Cleaned up mage in exchange for lavish stepford wife lifestyle (true golddigger style)? Perhaps when it came to marriage, love had nothing to do with it. IDK. Interesting info from the conference. Prince and Bria's relationship seemed like a mystery and then poof she disappeared one day. Next thing you know she's getting married. Some thought they were really together and others didn't.
According to what was told to people at the conference they were together but it appears she got tired of his crap and married someone else. I think Prince just wanted to have a main women that would be his fall back women and still run around. Sometimes you can be in love with the idea of being married but not the person you are married to. This is very true. Prince may have romanticized marriage and it's part of the reason why his two attempts didn't work out. He also chose the wrong ones and had no plans for fidelity. With that said, I don't feel pity for the women; they knew what they were getting into. [Edited 8/2/17 4:55am]

Do you know if she was a JW before Prince? I always thought she became one because of him, like some girls did-- I always assumed she'd abandon it once she moved on...

She wrote it back in 2012 and it is thin. Funny thing she it came right out when she got arrested for weed selling so she did not have time to promote it.

Not surprising at all. In the song "Love" from 3121 album he comes right out and says that she smiles at his friends but really hates them. Prince was hitting it with other women almost right up to their wedding. I remember one story, and I might have some details wrong, so if someone remembers this, correct me. The gist was that Prince was seen parading women into the bar/club of a hotel in Hawaii just two weeks before the wedding. Mani was alerted on her way up to her room by a couple in the elevator who had just seen him. She seemed indifferent about the whole thing. --Because he probaly told her he was going to see other women since she with him via an affair this could not have been a news flash. In Sheila E's book she said he told her he was going to have sex everyday he just wanted to have open relationships. The people who did the conference on him in England a few months ago reached out to Bria who told them she broke up with him because he was not serious about being a JW if he was always running around he was struggling with being a Christian. I read her book I don't recall that bit. And I would say he was a Christian with struggles. I don't think he struggled believing in God. You can be a Christian and be not that good at the rules. God allows for that, he expects it.

Shelia E's or Mikki White's?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
yes strawberrylova123, which book are you referring to?
i read shelia's and i didn't fine her portrail of Prince negative as i found it honest. the most honest thing she said i found was that when he asked her to marry her there was never a ring and that she felt there should have been one but she didn't think she should have to ask for it and my other big take away was that she just became exhausted trying to keep up her career and the his late night lifestyle.
i can not imagine what that must be like to have to adjust your natural sleep rhythms to accomodate his.

Good god this place is worse than lipstick alley sometimes. Sad that threads with most comments are usually gossipy ones like this. So and so said this...do yo have a link for that...no I saw it on Facebook. As if that gives confidence that the comment/story is accurate. Paisley Park is in your heart

As if there’s no incentive for any of these women to have people think Prince was flirting with them or hitting on them or whatever. This guy was supposedly so sick and in so much pain and addicted to painkillers yet still found a way to be banging women until the very end? Wow he really was Superman then.
