Best case scenario---She believes in mending old wounds or bringing people together (thus the reason she was even responding to Dave whats his face on facebook,) and did hear about Mayte occassionally from PRince and was bummed they didn't patch it up. Worst case scenario--She is an opportunist who aligns herself with anything or anyone Prince-related to get attention (despite their intentions) , releases an album on his death's anniversary not as a tribute and because he would have wanted her to continue the work she started when he was alive but solely because it was a great opportunity and she is exagerrating or lying about her bond with Prince. they had stage chemistry so I really hope its the best case scenario.

NOt the best case but not the worst case scenario - a complicated combination of most of the worst case and best case descriptions above (except the fake bond that is) with a lot of self justification and denial.

I don’t know Shelby personally but I get the impression her personality is not one to hate anybody. She just comes across as a nice, bubbly person full of a lot of love. I can understand why prince snatched her up and got along with her so well.

Agree 100%!

Some people on here really need a friend I read their posts and suddenly feel pessimistic and sad. How does Shelby liking someone affect anyone's life but hers and the other person's, especially so negatively smh.

Having met and spoken to Shelby a number of times, I can confirm you're absolutely right.

I think people are reading her comment a little too literal for what was intended. Which is fine, but the reactions shouldn't be so passionate to a situation where people weren't involved.

Mayte reinserted herself into the public eye, and said some things in her book that some prince fans were very upset about...she gets just as much positive feedback as negative...but if she,(or anyone else) thought she could write a book about prince and not have the crazys come out, then she is naive, although I believe she knew what the repercussions could be. But why do you guys have to bring up the really down and dirty stuff going on, whenever the mayte topic comes up here? Look at this thread...the mayte supporters are the only ones talking about hate?...do you really think anything hateful was said here? Or is it just a discussion with differing points of view. There are a lot of things in this world to hate, and it would be refreshing if we could reserve calling out hate for hateful things...

Exactly reading the comments no one said anything hateful. Any critisim of this women is considred

"hate" which to me is saying the Mayte supporters are just as out there as they claim the haters are.

This women is a human and capable of the same faults as any other human on the earth. I find it funny that Prince can be raked over the coals even in death but this chick is some sort of angel?

Even when people say nothing bad about her other then pointing out the obvious it is called "hating"
