Cool for them..everybody is different, we dont know what happened behind closed doors

right we don't fully know any of it. Even what was said in 1986, which is what you

were refering to.

But again, obviously there was no beef in 2003.

Morris probably had a problem with Prince & Jerome mocking his song Oak Tree in 1986, but they seem to be cool in 2016

Again thats jerome and morris we are talking about wally and wendy and the rev. That's great that wendy and jerome are cool i have nothing against wendy but it seems on here wendy can never do wrong. Not everyone seems cool with the rev, Anna and jill have issue's with them too. We are all outsiders so we don't know what went down.

I'm saying people do and say things and move on.

You are making this more than what it is.

First no one defended what Wendy said, I just cleared up that you quoted it wrong.

You mean Anna Fantastic Anna Garcia? What is her problem(please I really don't want to know)
She was never in the same time periods with the Revolution, why would she even be on the radiar.

Well I always enjoyed Wally, even watching the Family live @ First Avenue, now of course Jerome was the standout performer of the 3, but Wally I liked.

I alwys wondered what that whole scene would have been like for an era. There were certain performances and such like during the Sheila E drum solo and the Hard Life misdirected film, where I thought they would have been great visual performers with Madhouse. Madhouse had a lot of potential.

hopefully in good time they come to a place of communication and peace.
Like most fans they are in different stages of grief too. And being in the various places of relationship with Prince that they were it must be difficult.

That is totally not what was said.

She didn't say anything about it being a pop/rock band being turned into a funk band.

Sexy Dancer is Funk, and that was the song that made her a fan.

It wasn't the music.

It was said many times that she said it. It has been discussed on this board. Even Alan Leeds said that W&L did nothing but complain the whole Parade tour about the bodyguards turned dancers.

Wendy did not know when to button her mouth.

No one is perfect. I don't wanna hate on Wendy. But a valid point was made on this board. People in Prince's camp continue to rehash old shit P did and even though they may be a bit more sympathetic, balanced and nuanced about it now, the scrutiny will never go away due to his fame. Double standards are definitely there when it comes to public scrutiny of past deeds or statements.

And if the Parade and SOTT tours are the equivalent of RandB revues than sign me up as a fan of RandB revues. Those clips are a blast. RandB isn't inherently a lesser genre than rock. Steve Wonder is not less talented than Paul McCartney.

I don't know care if she 90 back then she always gets a pass and if Prince looked at someone the wrong way he was thrown under the bus and still is even in death. He put a 18 year old that know one knew anything about up front in his band she should have shown some gratitude.

Your focus was that the quote was incorrect. But you also said that people move on and therefore should be cut some slack (ie one of the reasons you posted pictures of Wendy with Jerome).

It doesn't mean the rest of us can't talk about the double standard that tends to happen where Prince is concerned. A lot of scrutinizing of Prince by associates but if/and when he said anything at all negative or less than flattering about his associates, people often got peeved. I have said it before that his peers are not wrong to point out flaws of his because he was human, but very rarely do they point out their own while doing so nor would they want anyone else doing that to them. But fame and success in one person brings that out in others who worked hard but didn't get the same degree of fame--it is human and understandable but a bit of a double standard where the media and public image is concerned. Yes, I know that Prince wasn't always fair with credits etc, but that's not really the point. No one said Prince was perfect.

I changed the quote because I don't want to make it me against Wendy thread because I don't think it is really about that. She is not the only person who pointed out his flaws (and his strengths for that matter).

I do dislike the bias in the quote against RnB however and if she did have any bias against the goofy ligtness of his bodyguards dancing in the show, than that is unfortunate. . To me, Prince placing those guys in his band might have been a way of incorporating his friends into his work, of finding a way to not just associate with people becuase of their musical ability but because he also enjoyed their company and share a humor and background. He needed all the friends he could get.. Sadly, they might have been using him like many others did but at least he didn't seem to be using them.

I didn't say anyone should be cut some slack, I never tried to deny what she allegedly said.

I just said, why are people bringing this up to Wally in 2017, what is the reason.
It is one thing that we talk about the times here on the org. Only people stuck on trying to be nasty will make more of it here. But I'm thinking after all this time, why would someone say that to Wally and to what purpose?
Especially that whatever issue was in 1986 Wendy & Jerome particulary were cool in 2003

How do we know someone didn't say something and she get it?

We don't know.

And Sheila E released 3 single for her 3rd album.

We know it just did not happen but that does not stop people from flapping off a the mouth about stuff that they think Prince said 30 years ago. I do not see why it should be any different for Wendy.

Once again Sheila E explained what happened with her third album and her decision to walk away from it in her book. Singles were releashed because she was a late on making the decision to go work for Prince. She was also about a million dollars in debt to Prince's management and wanted to work it off. The info is out there yet you keep making up your own story.

You are oblivious to what she said in her book about not wanting to be the leader of a band. So what singles were released because to be honest with you I only recalled one because record companies usually do not put a big push behind singles for artist who have decided not to promote the record at all. The album flopped because she was not going to promote it this is what you do not seem to understand.
I make mistakes based on what did not recall you simply ignore facts altogether.

We know about all that. But from the time the album was released to the time she became Prince's drummer, she released 3 singles. Hold Me was a huge hit in the states, Love on a Blue Train was release first in Japan, Koo Koo was released during that period right before the joined Prince band.
You are oblivious and talk like you have knowledgeable.

Read the fucking book. The songs being releashed have nothing to do with her not promoting the album and already getting ready and later on the road with Prince for Sign of The Times. The singles were WB trying to make some money since the album was already out. This project was dead in the water because she was not promoting it and being in Prince' s band at the same time.

The only lost person here is you.

Hey in the Sheila E thread, no one is agreeing with u.

You stated no less than 3 times, that there were no singles.
Sheila was promoting that album big time until Prince made his move

There were commercials, 3 singles, Bsides, concerts opening 4 Prince & the Revolution, then for Lionel Ritchie, 1-2 videos. 6-7 months worth.

I forgot about the singles which I already said. The stuff that you mention was probably pre-planned before the album was completed but she said she was not interested in being a band leader anymore and was in a tremendous amount of debt. She was not interested in promoting the album now you do not have to believe her and if you think throwing some single out in Japan is top of the line promotion think what you like. This project was dead in the water.
