So cool that the artist didn't leave out Denise, AKA Luara Charles.

That wasn't the first time she said he was like a father to her.
DMSR: "Prince became like a father to me. He loves playing dad. The first thing he did when we met was to nurse me, take care of me. I was very dependent on him. Cause I needed a father because of the terrible insecurity I had experienced as a child."
People always make him seem like some sex fiend. Sweet but scary to allow someone to be all of those things. [Edited 9/10/17 16:31pm]

Good question. It sounds like she did wonder from time to time if she did the right thing by leaving.

I would think she had to question it from time to time. I would love to know how she walked away being he was so many things to her.

Vanity back in the day made their relationship sound very sexual and so have others. Prince was very dominating and I am not sure why the media and some fans think he was submissive to these women he was very much in control until he did not want to be bothered anymore.

What Vanity says in this interview and the small snippet from DMSR shows more than the one-dimensional sexual outline in their relationship that all the unauthorized books portray. It shows an amatory and tender side to Prince that she personally experienced in their relationship. The books and associates that color the narrative between Prince and Vanity know nothing about their intimate relationship because they weren't privy to it. (Sorry Alex Hahn) It was something she experienced and shared with Prince alone. Authorized from her own mouth. I have another interview where she speaks of his tenderness towards her at times. That's beautiful. I never thought of Prince as being one dimensional. He seemed a much more complex individual. I don't think Denise would have fallen in love with him otherwise. I think it's wonderful to see that at one point their relationship was able to venture beyond just the sexual. [Edited 9/12/17 20:06pm]

I totally believe Prince was dominate which is what Vanity spoke of many times and why Vanity and Prince fought. . In this instance -in this interview- from what Vanity spoke it sounded as if it was not just a relationship based on sex. It was more than that from what she was saying. In past interviews She did not whitewash her time with him. However in this interview she gave a view of the time she and Prince spent together that was not based on the sexual alone. It I find it to be different from what has usually been told about them and this was not 2nd hand but from Vanity/Denise so it gave it more credence for me.
