How do you define milking? Because to some anyone who says two words about him since his passing is milking it and the only people with any integrity are the "fams". Paisley Park is in your heart

Mostly hotlips gossip agencies like TMZ and the gutter media worldwide, ones who foam at the mouth as each drug scandal or family fight involving people with hair hats fighting over his estate as he died without a will and as every dodgy child of Prince claimant came forth (My name is Chimeka Shahondra Jekin and this is my son Revolutionrainde Prinze who was born after Prince ear fucked me at a Purple Rain concert). . Then the Revolution members cashing in on his dead celebrity and people doing the shows and revivals based on Prince. . I also think whoever is running Paisley is milking it for all its worth too, with the tours, celebrations and limited edition books. . And Warner/NPG - 4ever was a shameless money grab and the rerelease of pre 1993 albums on CD and vinyl repressings of singles and albums. PR Deluxe was better, but doen more for revenue gathering on a dead artist rather than sincerity to hardcore fans. . All these nuccas writing books (Mick Wall et al) and other marginal journalists writing biographies quickly or merely adding a new chapter to their existing book (Hahn, Thorne et al). . Mayte and a few other ex girlies (Not Sheila though) who are milking it. Prince could not stand Mayte after they broke up, same with Manuela. Susan Rogers can respect her involvement, but she is milking it. Anyone else deciding they want to write a book about their time with Prince. . But then again, people like me buy most of this stuff and if nothing else his death has seem my Prince collection nearly double in size. [Edited 6/24/17 5:37am] Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

eh the Legacy dies and fades if people don't talk about it.
I want the people who were a part of the music the times the scene to talk. Yes there are some people who did nothing concerning Prince after they left Prince then popped up and are not championing Prince, those people I might take issue with ie Tony M for example . But the Revolution, Sheila E, the Time, Susan Rogers? No These people I want talking and doing the music .

I know, what your going to say about the music they created...but only 3 albums came from and 2 out of 3 flopped. The 94-95 NPG, SOTT/Lovesexy, Musicology bands were better! I thought your thread sucked, and then I read the bold part and immediately forgave you because that's pure lunacy. Go in peace. IMO it's that milk company (forget the name) who released a limited edition version of their milk with purple food colouring in Prince's honour. Pretty fucked up considering he was a vegan, definitely an insult to his memory. Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...

good question... i would define it as someone who uses an event or an unfourtnate event to draw attention to themseves when normally they wouldn't have nothing to say on a matter or situation. This person normally was at one time involved in that person's life but hasn't been seen in many years and now acts like they know if everything about the person. I hope that helps...

He was a vegan for awhile. Not his whole adult life. He also drank occasionally if you believe the accounts of his Vegas Butler, various Chefs and folks who ate with him. Kristin Chenoweth said he served salmon when he invited her to dinner. Brand new boogie without the hero.

I know the OP states "friends and family" in regards to who is "milking" it the most, but in all honesty-the one milking it the most is neither friends nor family, it's straight up Warner Brothers. As per an article LR posted a day or so ago, this article blatantly states that Warner Brothers (Stang is the guy's name?)said that "Prince and Bowie's death" was the best thing that could've happened to this fledgling company. It made me want to [Edited 6/24/17 7:40am]

More balance please FINALLY someone said it!!! THANK YOU!!!! I don't argue with people about my opinions. Scram. I said what I said.

Then that would be Andre Cymone by your definition. Not the Revolution or Sheila E Maybe even Tyka and her song/video release

Purplerabbithole is playing catch up, she hasn't been a fan long enough to know all the interviews where what she is accusing them of not doing, was actually said. While he was alive.
I suspect U haven't either.

Purplerabbithole, remember U R playing catch up. there are at least 20 yrs of time where there were interviews where this happened while he was alive. You want people to go indepth in these little interview to cover years of 1000s of songs. Remember you started following Prince A.D. After He Died. If U can find it look up Chicago Public Radio Sound Opinions Podcast 2009 you get a lot of Wendy & Lisa talking about it. . Again, You want them and us on the org to give you a crash course on Prince Purple History. U should humbly take your time, and realize, that they owe you nothing because U chose to follow Prince after he died. Sorry to bring it that way, but that is the facts. You were not a fan of Prince. Now you want to champion him as if you were.

OF4S - Just to clarify - are you saying the time following Prince on the org? Or just in general? How is this determined? Seems to be a theme lately.

Minnesota. Instead of illumimating buildings with purple light give his estate a tax break based on his charitable works and the inestimable good will his creative endeavors brought to Minneapolis. And while you're at it launch a credible investigation into his passing. IMHO.

They shouldn't have to go into the detail U require to be scrutinized.

I totally agree! Without his associates talking and doing his music... the legacy will go die too. I don't always like what they say but they lived it, not me.
