But I will say this: There have been times in the last year or so that Jill has mentioned (ranted) on Facebook about family and being in the midst of something. Frankly, I think Prince dating Susannah, and having Jill around might have caused friction. They both were or wanted to be his #1. I also think based on that theory/idea, Wendy & Lisa (or whoever) might have kind of gotten in the middle and told Jill to back the fuck up. I mean, Susannah and Wendy are twins, a bond only a few understand. So of course Wendy (and her then girlfriend Lisa) are going to defend family to an outsider (of sorts). Those girls (and Jonathan, and David etc) all grew up together from early, early on. It's not even a cat fight, it's a family affair. Jill might have gotten the "back da fuq up" from W&L & company, and got pissed at that, and held a grudge ever since. However, once Susannah wasn't with Prince anymore, she was obviously back around in 1989/1990 for Graffiti Bridge, so why not make a move on him then if she wanted to be with him? (I'm not saying she did want him again, but we don't know.)

Multiply that "back up" business with Bobby, Fink, and Mark... and she could have felt ganged up on had they said something to her as well. (Maybe not.)

So, her anger is sort of placed correctly. BUT only about 1%. Ultimately she's in control of her own actions, and her deeds back then, good or bad. Her angst, at this point 33 years later, makes her sound petty as fuck, and like she's truly the jilted ex-girlfriend trying to diss all the new heifers that came after her. She sorta sounds like Sheila, talking about how she had a 'special bond' with Prince, and she was the only one who knew how he clipped his toenails or whatthefuckever. She called them a Milli Vanilli band, but you know what - no one's asking her to sing "G-Spot" right now. No one's asking her to regroup and sing "Mia Bocca". It's The Revolution that's filling small clubs across the U.S. and playing that music. She could have been part of many things, but chose not to. That's on her at this point, and no one else. So yeah, her anger is ultimately misplaced.

I don't know if she wanted Prince exclusively. Or if she did, the situation was clear before Susannah came around via Kim Upsher, Susan Moonsie, Vanity and even Sheila E. She talked about being on the bus during the 1999 tour and all the women coming to an understanding that they had a little situation with Prince, and kind going hey that is cool.

I believe from reading/listening to some interview with Jill, she spent a lot of time in Europe away from the camp doing her thing, too. And then of course finishing up her album with Prince to be released in 1987(Susannah was gone at this time). I think in part it was why it took longer in coming out.

Yeah when I looked at that whole rant in Sept, it was clearly about Prince, because she went after him too, in that. I don't think there was any issue when they regrouped in 2013 4 the My Purple Heart show @ First Avenue. I think a lot of people weighed heavily on the Revolution when they did their show which they clearly said was a way to mourn Prince. It wasn't a 'tribute' like some of the other shows. So I think people thinking it was a 'tribute' show that a lot of other people should have been involved. But they were not in charge of the official tribute. Originally early on it looked like it was Sheila E to get it happening.

I don't know if she kept in touch with any of them over the years. Cat, Vanity, Anna Fantastic... I don't know of any others.

^ Stop blaming Josh people, if you're a newbie asked to remaster a master work by Prince you're not going to say no are you? Even if he felt he wasn't capable, we all know what happened to people who said No to Prince!

Prince would have been well aware that he wasn't an expert in that area but he still chose him to do the remaster so if anyone it's him that you should be taking issue with!

Because he was JW though too. They said as much (Josh and Hanna being christians of the JW faith which entied Prince, not because of skills etc). I get what you're saying though.

Having said that, if Prince left such a daunting task to me (if I were to be in that situation) I would step back and let him know that I was not up to the task with such a revered work of art.

Maybe, but there's a difference between "ready for" as in not enough experience and "right for" as in a good fit. Prince clearly thought Josh was both. And from interviews I've read with protégés, Prince seemed to have a knack for making people believe in themselves.

Here is a interview were she talks about how Prince told her he was engaged to Susannah and that they were going to still see each other just not in public. She stayed in New York care taking an apartment he had for a while and he flew around to meet up with him on the road. It appears that she was not working on her album at all while all this was going on.
