Could be, I am sure they really don't care to put too much effort into things, I mean the remastered audio is a testament to that. They do as little as possible knowing that only a few hardcore folks will be upset, while most of the masses wont hear a difference, nor, care who is credited or not.

Unfortunately it's not just the "masses", plenty of jokers here on the org keep telling those of us who do care to stop talking about "quality".

Because it is pointless. WB is out to make a buck and they are going to do it as cheaply as they can.

Her vocals seem a lot clearer and more defined than the piano in "Wednesday" which I thought was kind of weird.

That's because Wednesday is of much poorer quality audio wise than Our Destiny, nothing to do with her voice.

Yes, that is unfortunate on both points.

It is very unfinished. I still think Wednesday and Our Destiny are vocals Jill recently recorded over an instrumental version she had. Her voice sounds amazing, but, it doesn't sound like mid 80's Jill, it sounds like a much more mature voice to me.

I don't know her 80's voice well enough to discern a difference, but I can kind of hear what you mean. Her vocals seem a lot clearer and more defined than the piano in "Wednesday" which I thought was kind of weird.

Yes, exactly that. Soda Shop I believe is original vocals from the 80's, the other two I am on the fence.

Regardless though, I do love her vocals on these tracks.

It's funny that Jill's private, personal copy of Our Destiny (30+ year old second/third/whatever generation tape) is in better quality than the official release, which WB claims were sourced from the "master tapes". Don't fall for WB statements guys...

"Funny" is not the word I would use, but, yeah.... wink

That doesn't make it "pointless". If you're not interested in the subject skip posts & threads from people who are interested. That's what we do with threads about Prince being cloned or threads about Prince being a cocaine addict for decades. Just sayin'...

Let's be honest, the Prince music world is full of miscredits, or, no credits, especially in the early days. I am sure they were not sticking it to Jill on purpose, it's probably a matter that there was simply no record of her contributions.

Or them just being lazy when doing their research.

Or...they went by what Prince told them - in which case, all the anger is misplaced. But, hey - what good does it do to be mad at the dead guy?

Not sure if I've found the same 3 files on Soundcloud, but to me the quality sounds terrible compared to the official Deluxe Edition version.

.

I like her voice, agreed, but not sure how anyone can say these are better quality than the tracks WB have!?

She's mad at WB - but if Prince gave them the info, her anger is misplaced because she should be mad at Prince. But it does no good to be mad at him because he's dead. Get it?

I would argue that it's she hates the Revolution, and it's straight up envy that her version wasn't used on the PR deluxe. Because $$$$. If OD/RG wasn't on this set, she would have never leaked these tracks. Why not leak them after he died, or when PR deluxe was announced? She waited because she simply wants to steal some thunder, and put a dent in it.

Having said all that, she deserves credit on the stuff she was on, of course. My point was more about "Our Destiny".

The songs are also on YourListen.com.

Wednesday is a light, frothy little piano ballad. I like it! Not even 2 minutes in length. If this was going to be part of the original 8 track PR configuration I think Jill's character had a much bigger part in the original screenplay.

That's not even conjecturing, it's a known fact. Jill's character did have a larger part in earlier drafts of the script. We've long heard about the line "if you're not back by Wednesday...". The song is short, and it could have served as a segue or a sidebar type moment with her, opposed to a full on song. It seems more like a musical, opposed to a rock n' roll movie, at that point, with people singing their dialogue.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Why did the Revolution wait to get back together after he died? Noeitarity or money or both. I think Jill is very honest about how she feels about the Revolution. She is not cryptic.

Wednesday. It's not a new idea to slightly misspell a title of a song to avoid the host finding it and deleting it over copyright. I find the most inventive titles on YouTube of Prince tracks.

These are great to hear. Killing at the Soda Shop is cracking me up -- what is the story behind this?

Why does there have to be a story behind everything? Most times, there isn't, even with Prince. Sure he writes songs about girlfriends, or on a dare (La La La, He He Hee), but sometimes it's just what comes to his head.

I hate this song, btw.

It was supposed to be in PR. I have read about this song for years and I not sure but I think this is the first time it was actually heard. Too bad it did not make it onto the remaster. Would have been nice to have it along with Modeniare

The old boot from the 90's, Eavesdropped In Intimate Moments, had Wednesday on it, it is a piano rehearsal cd for the most part.
