Nice to hear these! Especially her version of Our Destiny! WB should have sourced her for this track!
Anybody rip them from Soundcloud? Can do it from work. I have a feeling these will get yanked. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide." |

OUR DESTINY OMG
I know that piano melody on Wendesday. IS that on the "intimate moments" collection? I have to dig that out from the attic.

WOW! Our Destiny is better with Jill's vocal.
We're gonna have to disagree on that one. And I don't even like Lisa's vocals, or is it Wendy.
Seems like we weren't missing too much with Wednesday. Killing at the Soda Shop is like a dodgy Jim Steinman knock off.
These will be filed in the trash can. Thanks anyway.

Let's be honest, the Prince music world is full of miscredits, or, no credits, especially in the early days. I am sure they were not sticking it to Jill on purpose, it's probably a matter that there was simply no record of her contributions.
Or them just being lazy when doing their research.
Could be, I am sure they really don't care to put too much effort into things, I mean the remastered audio is a testament to that. They do as little as possible knowing that only a few hardcore folks will be upset, while most of the masses wont hear a difference, nor, care who is credited or not.

I strongly dislike the remaster, but it's probably all they can put out at this point. It was done by Josh and delivered to WB by Prince himself. They're not going to get the master tapes for another remaster unless the estate hands them over (which they probably can't be forced to do in quite a while, if ever).
The whole release is a mess, frankly put.

for When's Day (Wedneday) Susan Rogers called it an incidental song and referred to Jill having sung it in Purple Rain. I assume that means it was filmed and there is the part where Prince comes in and Wendy and Lisa are there with Jill... I believe that is when it was meant to be in the movie. But was cut! It's funny that Jill's private, personal copy of Our Destiny (30+ year old second/third/whatever generation tape) is in better quality than the official release, which WB claims were sourced from the "master tapes". Don't fall for WB statements guys... |

Would she be saying this if PRINCE were alive?? he often did not credit people for playing writing singing moaning breathing on the records so when she says NPG that is Prince Mrs. Jones, he gave the OK to do this.

They haven't explicitly stated that, have they?
The statements have been made on just the album remaster. It's really just the fans in denial that have spread the nonsense about the outtakes being sourced from the masters and the sound quality being bad because of tape deterioration. They've done most of the work for WB in that regard.

Just to clarify NOTHING on the PR "remaster" except for disc one is FROM THE MASTERS. Regardless of how it is worded or what they were led to believe, PRINCE never gave the masters of Vault tracks, what you are getting are what bootleggers had back then cleaned up a little but mostly not. WB aslo does NOT have the right to remaster ANYTHING further, I hope everyone clammoring for FUTURE albums to be remastered like Sign O the Times Parade etc....

Yes I believe it is on that bootleg, I think Prince does a brief rendition of the song during those sessions. At work now so can't check to be certain, but pretty sure. Listening to "Our Destiny" right now, maybe it's bc I'm a Lisa fanboy but I'm not completely digging Jill's vocals on this. I'm very much looking forward to hearing the other leaked tracks though!

Jill Jones-Mühlum 3 h · NPG And Warner Bros Records You are on Notice. You liberally think its ok to use someones voice and NOT CREDIT THEM ON THEIR WORK? How much more revisionist history and alternative facts do you think you will continue to create about Prince's music, SONGS AND LIFE? DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHO IS REALLY SINGING ON THOSE SONGS? I have a journal if you are interested. How long do you guys want to keep fucking me?Has it really felt THAT GOOD TO YOU PEOPLE? #PurpleRAIN DELUXE EDITION
She's leaked 3 trax-demos somewhere on Soundcloud..u can understand i can't give u the link...see by urself
WENESDAY 1.39 mn
KILLING AT THE SODA SHOP 2.53 mn
OUR DESTINY JILL JONES VERSION 3.12 mn
Good for her. If the fool estate mgers or anyone at WB had spoken to people who were around back then maybe they could have put Wenesday on the soundtrack. Jill rules !!! |

The JJ version of "Our Destiny" is missing keyboards and other elements that help make the released version sound fuller. It sounds noticeably unfinished. Even with the sound quality issues and less vocal clarity, I'd still take the Lisa version anyday. |

It is very unfinished. I still think Wednesday and Our Destiny are vocals Jill recently recorded over an instrumental version she had. Her voice sounds amazing, but, it doesn't sound like mid 80's Jill, it sounds like a much more mature voice to me.

Unfortunately it's not just the "masses", plenty of jokers here on the org keep telling those of us who do care to stop talking about "quality".

I don't know her 80's voice well enough to discern a difference, but I can kind of hear what you mean. Her vocals seem a lot clearer and more defined than the piano in "Wednesday" which I thought was kind of weird. |
