This is nothing more than another vanity project.

You think because Prince complimented his father's music in 1983, that this indicates his approval of this project.

I guess Prince was just taking his time releasing music from his father and sister, right?

Not much to think about, this is music from his father and not Prince. If you consider the plain meaning of what he himself said in 1983,"one day I hope you'll get to hear it" means just that, now we get to hear it and it sounds great! Kudos to his sister for honoring her father and sharing his music with fans.

Not yet. I'm at work and can't listen to music- but will when I get home smile I did watch the Youtube clip a while back and loved it- And I will DEFINATELY get the CD- (I prefer CD's) so I can listen to this at home- I love jazz in the background for when I'm chilling- reading on the couch or not wanting to listen to anything heavy but want to read or clean house or whatever. I think I will wear this CD out smile

Check out Prince's sisters introduce The John L. Nelson Project. "Introducing The John L. Nelson Project! John L. Nelson was a prolific Jazz musician most notably known as the father of the musical genius Prince Rogers Nelson. John L. Nelson wrote and composed many songs which were never recorded until now. John L. Nelson was the catalyst to Prince's musical inspiration, and this project is the first recording produced in Paisley Park since Prince's passing. This promo is a segment from the short form documentary about the new album that will be released very soon." Here it is: https://m.youtube.com/wat...Wr1ow04-ZA UPDATE: The first single entitled "Heart of Mine" will be released on Thursday, June 29th. This would have been Prince's Father's 101st birthday. The album entitled "Don't Play With Love, The John L. Nelson Project" is scheduled to be released on October 27th. [Edited 6/29/17 9:57am]

Well... Leeches finally getting some free studio time to "finish" cash in recordings... What a waste of a great studio... Just leave Paisley Park as is or use it for Prince's recordings...

I wonder why they waited so late to do this. It would have been pretty interesting to hear this stuff much earlier. Especially while he was alive.

The Fathers Song EP released in 94 was a collaboration that featured John L. Nelson on Piano. If the snippets included in the video promo and the single are any indication of what this album has to offer, I believe it's on a whole new level. "And The Best New Jazz Instrumental Grammy Goes To...."

Not bad--pretty straightforward song. Nothing innovative, but it does make me want to hear the rest of the album. Thanks for sharing Latin.

Thanks Latin..I just listened to the whole single

Easy Listening I would call it,

Curious that Prince never had anything to do with releasing his fathers Music.

Surely he would have known of the existance of the "crates of Charts" that

Sharon ~Found~

Its "nice"..Im listening to it as I type ......but...It hasnt had much impact on

This Heart of Mine
