same here, i was hoping for a prince tune

having said that i can see why she'd record a song. the last verse is nice. and it's ok.
she's his sister, she's expressing herself in an artistic way. it's her full right.

it would have been nice to not have all the hubub about it beforehand though, and it
be reveald as a big surprise on prince's birthday when you know all his fans will be on
the lookout for a new song.

let's see where this goes from here. if it's a one off or if we're going to be treated to a
full tyka album before the estate gets out another prince release. in that case i'll be a
bit more upset.

This is the first time I have heard Tyka sing, and I think she has a beautiful voice. I thought both the song and the video production were very well done, also. It was a very touching tribute to Prince as well as her other family members who have passed.

It is a nice video. Made me cry seeing all the pictures of him when he was little and the sentiment of the song.

It's a nice song. Nothing I'm going to be humming anytime soon, didn't hurt my ears, but it's not a Grammy winner either. I was hoping for something more today, but eh. There is time.

I'm confused by her statement of fulfilling his wish. What was his wish? That she record a song at Paisley Park? That she write a song for him if he ever died?

This all obviously doesn't lend to Londel's Emancipation2 tease on Twitter a while back. So maybe that's still coming, whatever it is.

Umm, yeah, the sentiment is great, but, I can't help but cynically be a bit turned off by this.

Besides, i felt nothing like i did upon hearing that Deliverance track. Now that was a surprise and quite heavenly at that! This... was a disappointment.

Well, since I wouldn't have watched either of the two, I think it's six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Why does everyone have to be so ungrateful? It's Prince's Birthday. His only full blooded sister, wrote him a song, sung, and taped a video for us the fans, & for her brother. She obviously misses her brother.

She's using her dead brother's birthday to promote her own music. Got his fanbase slightly excited by the prospect of something in the lead up to it and then gave us a song she's trying to sell on iTunes etc. Her Instagram says more to come. Of all the days to use as a stepping stone... This is in bad taste IMO.

The more I think about this the more wrong it feels.

I think I'd have preferred the reality show, especially if it was as per the rumoura and was going to have unreleased Prince music.
