From 1980 thru 1993 Jill’s backing vocal contributions are featured on numerous Prince solo works and his Paisley Park artist projects; Jills voice left an indelible mark on his Minneapolis sound. Her self-titled 1987 Paisley Park album debut, “Jill Jones” is STILL forever revered as THEE quintessential album born from Prince’s protégé musical marriages. Now out of print, bootlegged versions are rare collectibles. Prince fans would also recall her as the blonde "Marilyn Monroe-esque blonde waitress named Jill" as a featured co-star in Prince's musical blockbuster, Purple Rain and the sassy raven haired girlfriend in Graffiti Bridge where Jill is known for the infamous"panty drop" scene Jill has written, recorded, and toured with esteemed and legendary artists Teena Marie, Chic, Steve Winwood, Ronny Jordan,Stevie Wonder, Sinead O'Connor and Oscar winning composer/artist Ryuichi Sakamoto, to name a few. As well as written songs for Her own individual solo projects have explored a variety of musical genres with her TWO release She has written and produced her own albums, “Two” with Meshell Ndegeocello guitarist Chris Bruce, The Grand Royals, “Wasted”, as well as her edm chart topping dance single, Living For the Weekend featured on her spring 2016 release “I Am” on Peace Bisquit Records. Most recently Jill has written and recorded a song for her late friend and Paisley Park musical mentor's passing, titled I Miss You, as a tribute to their on and off stage friendship. This evening, Jill will be joined onstage by her musical friends the FunkySoulBrothaXperience, and will feature a few special guest appearances. I don't speak for everyone. So I'm not against/for Mayte or Jill talking. . . Attacking other people doesn't shine, in the long run it doesn't make anyone relevant, and just distances people. Especially if others are not attacking, or tearing anyone down.
. She was at the other tribute show with Apollonia and Susan Moonsie and I hope she enjoyed it and is able to release heal and celebrate, and not let that other stuff smear her brand.
