When Brown states that Prince was gone for a week and left the Revolution to work on stuff and then returned to make adjustments, where the fvck was Prince? Workaholic, music obsessed Prince was off doing what? I don't know maybe Brown is talking about P working on OTCM and Purple Rain movies or doing videos? But they were there for that too?
In his defense, he might not be talking about constant instances of P being gone, but I wish he would chose his words more wisely. He is making me resent the Revolution tour again by stating with so much emphasis how it is 'our' music? Well, to what degree? To the degree that Prince doesn't even need to be there?
Sorry, don't get mad at me oldfriends4sale, but I am starting to feel sad for the dead man that seems replacable. Its emotional reaction, yes, but Mark Brown should maybe make it clear that Prince was not just a flipping figurehead with stage charisma. Its not a tribute to Prince if its all about reminding people of your own accomplishment. I am feeling sad today because of this article. Even MJ seems replaceable from his brothers.
the exploitation of the dead ...ugh.

While having Lunch this past March in Minneapolis, a Friend of Mine asked Me if I thought Dez was/is part of The Revolution. Without blinking or a second thought, I said "Hell Yeah!!" Put the "1999" Album/CD cover in the mirror. What's written in the Oval on the cover, in reverse? Better yet, take the 1st Album out the cover. Who's on the Album sleeve, in the Band w/the Japanese headband on? Hmmm!!! The clips I've seen have been GREAT (and I'm going 2 the Seattle Show in July), I just wish Dez was there. And even though He wasn't on "Purple Rain", He was in the Movie!!! The Revolution COULD perform "Modernaire", w/Dez fronting for a bit!! As far as The Jacksons, the reunion seems weird w/o Randy. But I guess that's between Randy & Jermaine. -Queen w/George Michael would've made Dollars AND Sense!!! With Adam Lambert, it's all about the Benjamins!! -Van Halen would've sounded MUCH BETTER w/Tom Jones!!! At 76 years old, He STILL could sing circles around Roth, Hagar & Cherone!! AND- get the Pannie'z from the Girls in the first 5-10 rows!!! -AC/DC: NO ONE could ever replace Bon Scott!!! And after Brian Johnson, JUST STOP!!! -The Doors: Call it D&D, have Densmore play Drums & Glenn Danzig sing!!! -Judas Priest........MEH!!! AND 4 GOD'S SAKE.......ZEPPELIN W/JASON BONHAM, B4 someone passes away PLEASE!!! NO MORE ROBERT PLANT BLUEGRASS CD'S!!!! p.s.: I was dreaming when I wrote this...................

[Edited 5/22/17 17:01pm] With Prince once the show was set the band could practise their parts without him. Remember Prince didn't have to practise as much as the others because he was so talented that he learned quickly. And for the most part it was his songs and his arrangements anyway so he knew them already.Plus he was easily bored The wooh is on the one!

Emotional reactions are never clear or good BrownMark is not saying anything your insinuating
What is it an issue that Prince might be gone for a week?

He might not be insinutating anything. But it sounds bad. In his attempts to justify the Revolution's recent tours, he is not thinking about the way people (unknowledgable about their history) can jump from A to Z. They could easily go from thinking Prince doing everything was a myth to thinking Prince was doing very little at all. ' Its 'our' band. He was gone for weeks. we worked while he was gone and then he made a few tweeks when he returned.' He might just be saying we had input but he is not saying it well or with a delicacy. And you juxtaposition all those statements with the fact that they are touring without the man (like he was David Lee roth or something.) It gives the impression of Prince being unneeded and absent then and now. Even the article stated that some people thought the tour was a cash grab and crass..
Its like going from thinking Abe Lincoln was am egalitarian hero to believing that Abraham LIncoln was not really an anti-slavery president but instead was a white supremist who believed in deportation and was forced into freeing slaves against his will. A to Z disillusionment. The reality was neither.

Yeah, I don't think that is what Brown was saying.

Thanks for the article they are damned if they do, and damned if they don't perform. Keep Calm & Listen To Prince

Who said they were damned if they don't perform. Just appearing on stage to honor Prince in a speaking capacity would have been enough. What damns them when it comes to performing is the fact they are willing to do a tour of the music they contributed to but didn't actually show or send a tape to the tribute memorial that covered the whole span of his career. Bobby Z came (to his credit.) I have no criticism whatsoever of those who remained quiet (which seems to be nearly no one). Bria Valente is the only one..and good for her.

Yeah I don't think he now has to be a dignitary and go so detailed into thing for people if they want to believe the worst. There are enough interviews and history that if people want to see/hear what they want, there is nothing anyone can do.

Sorry Brown comes off very dick like with some of his comments lately. Maybe standing in front of the mic signing in Prince' s place has gone to his fucking him.
I think I know why he was not allowed to speak and got put behind the speakes.

ehhh I doubt it maybe he is reacting to some of the asshat comments people are making

I think it's fun to watch the reaction of the other members of the band when BrownMark makes it a point to mention that he wasn't fired by Prince, to the contrary he was asked to join NPG The wooh is on the one!

yeah nothing they haven't talked about together before. These people are friends who visit each other and stay at each others homes for years.

Well maybe he needs to stop saying dumbass things.

The Jacksons released 2300 Jackson Street in 1989 without Mike & Marlon, and Mike was alive then. They sang on the title track, but Marlon did not appear in the music video though. The Jackson 4 also did a song on a soundtrack for a Whoopi Goldberg movie called Burglar. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I don't picture Tom Jones in Van Halen. I remember INXS did a tour with Terence Trent D'Arby as the singer. Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end

most people don't know the alleged stuff some of you here allegedly know. . I think people need to find more worthwhile causes to direct their 'anger' or 'righteous indignation' toward.

I can but I doubt if that would stop him. Ego is a powerful thing that few people have control over.

Most people in the fan community know that Eric is married to Prince's ex and it has been discussed on many fan pages. People know more than you think they do.
| |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
that is one thing, and a lot of 'fans' of Prince -not orgmembers- do not know of Prince's personal life. A lot do not. That takes a lot of questions and study time And MOST do not know of the allegations being presented here As HUGE a fan as I am I knew nothing of the allegations until recently and in another thread other hardcore fans said the same
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
but it is still people taking it from a certain point of view. How many times have you been accused of saying dumb ass things and such on the org?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Dude there are other message boards and dozens of Facebook, tumbler and blogs about Prince. You know information gets spread around because these outlets do not censor like this board and some are actually closed.

UMMA say it again, most fans who are about the music, concerts don't and did not care about Mani & Eric. I'll say it again, as deep as I get into it, I 1) did not care 2) therefore did not look into it . I would probably say more females are into this stuff -just like all these associate chicks making all the noise, the guys in the camps are not and don't care. . And the Org doesn't censor, and I seriously doubt this topic has been sensored. That is an extreme strawman.

You seem to have the problem here. You are reading as you WANT to read it to be a thing and stirring the pot.

Years of reading your posts demonstrates you low a lot about rampant ego.
