On My visits 2 Minneapolis, Miss Margie Cox aka TaMara has been the Singer in The Combo. They perform a lot of covers, which is NOT BAD!!! She can STILL SAAAAAANG!!! I wish She'd do some of Her original material though. Or maybe I just haven't gone @ the right time.....And Michael Bland had been in the Drummer's Chair!!!

The combo is a lot of fun. I've been there when Jellybean and Sonny Thompson have sat in, too. You'll enjoy it. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. | |

I went last night and it was really great. I walked in and they were doing Strange Relationship. Margie sang backgrounds for most of it including Pop Life and Uptown. . But then the next set Margie took a lot of the leads and they did a lot of Chaka Khan and Teena Marie.
Michal Bland was on drums and Sonny T on bass. I posted a few video snippets on Facebook but not sure how to link to them here. [Edited 5/30/17 15:22pm] |
