I hope she pulls some of that Purple Music sound into the Bay area vibe

It would be cool after about 6 months that Sheila E the Revolution the Time the Family etc got together and put out an album of music that celebrates the purple music during their period. Something almost like what the Family did.

eek eek eek

I think you could be onto something there. Admittedly, I felt oddly comforted by watching some of the Revolution clips of their recent performances (the same way as with Sheila's BET tribute). I don't know if this is because I was so impacted by that era of music in my teen years and it was my coming of age as a concert goer or what. But there is something about that trifecta of founding Paisley Park alumnae that resonates deeply with me.

4 me too. There is something about Morris Day(especially when he is with the original Time) seeing Shiela E with Eddie M and Juan performing with her

the Family Susannah Jellybean St Paul Eric

the Revolution etc

performing because they were all in that foundational period that got me addicted to Prince & purple music. When you hear those songs, they were there with him recording performing listening talking etc

That purple 'alumnae' doing an album of compositions that hold true to the music would be a wonderful step.

Well don't hold your breath just yet. She just released two cover songs on her Soundcloud, including "Everyday People" (with a Prince sample at the beginning, totally unnecessary IMO), and a Beatles cover, "Come Together" with......wait for it... Ringo Starr. yawn

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.
