The Time live at First Avenue 1983 (audio)

I'm sure it's been circulating, but I've never heard it. There is a video on YouTube (that's just audio only) of The Time at First Avenue 1983. It was after the August 3, 1983 gig with Prince. Morris mentions how Prince played a couple of weeks prior and charged $25 a head.

This is the gig where "The Bird" and "Jungle Love" were recorded for use in the movie, and the former being the cut used on Ice Cream Castles. I always wondered where the take for "Jungle Love" that they used in the movie came from, because it's obviously not the album cut. This gig is it. You can hear his inflection on certain words, etc., that is identical to what they lip-synced to in Purple Rain.

It's a good show, about an hour-ish. Anyone else heard it before, or recently?

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

--I have heard the unedited version of the Bird with Morris being really sarcastic and crazy.

I've heard it b4!!! And it's THE version of "The Bird": The SAME one on "Ice Cream Castle"!!! I noticed that 4 SOME REASON, Jesse's Guitar solo is omitted from the Album Version, but U can hear it on the Bootleg!! And it's trimmed just a hair.....

cool

.

I've heard it. good show overall, considering that by this show

Jam, Lewis & Monte were gone.

for me it's interesting to hear how THE BIRD was shaved down into its final LP form

from this performance.

.

yeah this audio is nice.. would LOVE to see the VIDEO from this show too..

I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

Great show.

.

.

One thing I noticed which was weird: on Wild & Loose Morris' vocals seem to be off key!

It's not really edited, they just do the "encore" part twice in the live show with "2 time" hits and he Chili sauce again..

.

.

What I noticed was that the mix is different.

.

1.Some of the keyboards are louder in the live recording (synth strings and synth bass?)

.

2. Seems like Prince added another Oberheim synth horns for the record. They are "missing" from the guitar solo section and they sounded really muted/less prominent during the encore parts (especially during "Siamese twins joined at the suit" cue).
