it was an interesting 'more sped up' rendition checking into an all out rock in roll ending |

I'm sorry, but I can't even bring myself to watch it. Some songs should not be done. Especially when somebody has already done the most amazing and heartfelt rendition, like D'Angelo's. Who never again resurfaced nor participated in another form of tribute. |

I am beginning to look at him with a side eye. I really wonder if we will ever find out why they drifted apart and I do not mean just Andre's side.
All riding the purple wave, imo.
Also, some of these were not in touch with him for ages. For a reason. |

yeah Tony M and Levi Seacer just were gone forEver and now Tony is leading the 1991 NPG
.
For me the thing that get at me with Andre is his admission that not until Prince died and Bobby Z asking him to perform with them in Sept that he never listened to another Prince album after he left the band. I'm not 'hating' on Andre, I love him for his time in the band and what he did with Jodi Watley. |

Something is up with Andre. I remember a few years ago Jody Watley did an interview and someone asked her directly what Dre was up to and she said she had no idea what he was doing or where he was located. Keep in mind they have a son together.
The last album credit for him was the Days of Thunder movie. I really question if this brother was not on a lock down. |

I love Andre. He did an interview with The Current during the celebration and he explains a lot about their history and what Prince meant to him. It's clear his feelings run deep and they are genuine. Prince wasn't an angel y'all. The fact that a lot of these past associates are honoring him rather than dissing him proves that they are bigger people than you give them credit for. Only they know the whole truth of their histories. Most of them have taken the high road. I appreciate that. If it gets them some attention so be it. They deserve it. If you dont like it you dont have to participate in it. But you don't have to cut them down either. It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN |

True, they sure could tell a tale or two. However... let's not be naive, I don't think that would go down well for Prince fans and these people are only known because of Prince, ultimately. So no, if they were to tell tales or air their dirty laundry they would not be a part of tributes, albums, videos, books, whatever, fans attention, the lot. It pays to talk good things about Prince, not to diss on him. Just my opinion. |

Everything mentioned is factual. Must you inject your negativity into every thread? Is there anything or anyone at all you have a positive opinion about? Doesn't it ever get old picking every little tidbit apart looking for a bad angle? It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN |

I saw him in LA a few years back and have a freind who worked with him on his last (not recent) record.

Andre and Prince were in communication, but Prince & Jill were not after 1990. 1990-2016(Vanity's memorial/funeral)
