He took a lot of other ladies out on dates. Interesting. Just like the fact that he stayed friends with so many old girlfriends but not the two ex-wives. |

She has made A LOT of money on her book, after all it is a best seller. I hope she does write another one.
Me too. If she has more to say, she should say it. I think everyone closely connected to him should write a book, from his wives to his bandmates, to the executives at Warners, to the recording engineers, to the random women/men he had sex with. His stuff needs to be fully documented while all these people are still alive.

A little hypocritical for someone who keeps talking about Vanity, & how she meant everything to Prince. |

If she does a write a book about the genesis of songs Prince wrote while she was in Prince's life, I can just imagine a band member and other collaborators pulling her card, disputing how songs was written and recorded. Prince's death has been the best thing for Mayte because it made Mayte's dormant celebrity before he died into a "poor-put-upon-widow-who-can-play-the-victim" persona whose remarks about Prince promoting her book and what she wrote can't be challenged without an apologist saying "it was her life too". As Don King says about the American hustle-"ONLY IN AMERICA". 3121 #1 THIS YEAR |

Prince had no widows
He divorced Mayte and married someone else. So she is not a widow. I think she needs to be called out for calling him her husband - the proper term is ex-husband.

Exactly. It's called nitpicking. She calls him her husband in her book simply because she's talking about events in the present tense as they happened. She doesn't walk around in 2017 calling him her husband!! There's always a rainbow 🌈 , at the end of every rain ☔️ |

"it's coming from love". LAWD HAVE MERCY! She can stab someone in the back and sweetly say "it's coming from a place of love" without batting an eye. I don't have a problem with her writing a book about her creative contributions to Prince's music (backing vocals, choreography of videos for certain songs, inspiration for songs) but I hope she reaches out to the musicians who played and helped arrange the music on those songs to give greater context to that period and for those cats to get their just due.
---But she is not going to write about that. No one is going to pay money to read about her unless she talks about Prince. Now I hope people will start to wake up and see her what she is. This is one of those things I wanted to be wrong about.
It appears she never got closure and haven't completely moved on. She might be still angry about everything she felt he wronged her in. She couldn't discuss it before his death because she likely knew he would sue. Reading some of the quotes from her book, it's like she wants everyone to know just how much he hurt her. I think it would have been ok for her to have left some of that personal stuff out of the book. She said it herself that in her eyes he was still her husband because he divorced her and she didn't divorce him. |

On the album, he proposes marriage in "The Holy River," a rolling midtempo song akin to Bruce Springsteen's quieter side. Later, a sparse, tender piano ballad begs, "Let's Have a Baby". She got down on her knees in that gown, and I did next to her, and we thanked God that we could be alive for this moment."
Like a man in love, he adds: "She really makes my soul feel complete. I feel powerful with her around. And she makes it easier to talk to God."
Do you think your wife has had a positive influence on your life? (question posed by interviewer)
