The first book went over well because the ghost writer knew what she was up against (Prince fans) and she knew not to write it the way Anna Nicole's sister wrote her book ("Trainwreck") but if Mayte puts out another book- it is going to look desperate and defintely like cashing in and I don't think it will be so well received.

No she flat out told the host. He DID have migraines, he did throw Amiir's ashes in the fire. That the guardianship papers was for only a short time only because she was in California with Prince and her family lived elsewhere. She also said there is a ton of stuff in the vault that is not completed and the interviewer asked her opinion on how they should release it and she suggested that if the songs weren't done, maybe the band he was with at the time, could finish the songs in that era. She also mentioned that the code to the vault (when she was married to him) was her measurements.

If she puts out another book, I don't know what more she can write about Prince. She's covered all their years together. I don't feel she's qualified to talk about his music. Who knows, maybe the next one will be about Tommy Lee.

Do you have a link to the whole interview? Thanks.

I meant that if she is to write another book she should stick to that: a more in depth description on the making of videos, tours, experiences while on tour, etc.

Yay! More contradictions, fabrications and outright BS!!!
Neither did they ever go out on a date. “I doubt any woman ever has... he’s not really a cinema kinda guy,” she says.

"We were friends first," she said. "We were friends and then he became my boss and then it just, the flirtation happened. We went to the movies all the time. The first date-date that he was like, 'It's courting time,' was when we were engaged."

If she does another she should just focus on the musical era 1991-1998 ending with the One song/video
She should talk about the concerts, music, bands and videos I honestly don't think she has enough insight into that part of his life to write something really insightful. [Edited 4/23/17 8:59am] The wooh is on the one!

My idea of another theme for her book would me ;My Life after Prince. Although a fun and incomparable time, it was also a time of tragedy and depression. How did she move on? What goals did she have after her divorce? What were her steps? so as to inspire other women going through hard times to take life as it comes and moving on. This is my normal life. These marital standards cannot be recreated with money.

I've got a title for her next book - A Street Car Named Prince: How I Rode My Way to Stardom. God is my Sugar Daddy.

She will never do that because she hasnt moved on. Baby, you're a star.

I mean from her view and experience, she did have a part in videos, she directed the One, there was the Glam Slam opera? Is that what it was called. I mean she was definately there, and I think it would be a cool perspective. Talking about the concerts the after shows, Torah Torah etc

No, she was on the Diamonds & Pearls tour but not in an upfront position
And didn't the Love Symbol album come out in 1992? Which is where she became the central dancer Wasn't Rosie Gaines gone at the end of Diamonds & Pearls? She is quoted telling Prince(pointing at Mayte on the tour bus) there is your future wife.

pg 168 The chemistry between the rock star and the teenage beauty was immediate. As Prince told Ebony in 1996, he was enraptured even by the photo on her video case. "She was sixteen. I fell in love," he said. After Mayte left the dressing room, Rosie Gaines looked at him and said, "There's your future wife."

It might also be cathartic for them as well since they knew him. Maybe it isnt ALL about cashing in especially for those where there is a long term history such as Sheila.

Good one. We should make this a whole topic and make it a sticky since this board is now Mayte.org.

. You know what would be a great test? Have Mayte write a book and not mention Prince's name, and then see how it sells. . Poor Prince; he has left this earth but still has people using and abusing him. Greed is a terrible thing.

. This is the world we live in today. People want to get rich quick and not work for it. Blame it on the internet and You Tube, everybody's a rock star! Hey, Prince could have written an awesome song about our internet culture! Like the Kartrashian's -- famous for doing nothing. . Prince even said something about people not having any talent and being famous -- maybe he was talking about the Kartrashians? LOL

. Nah, that's not gonna happen anytime soon. Prince was her cash cow; she will keep milking that purple rain until the well runs dry.
