The Dream Factory artwork event ~ Susannah Melvoin From Facebook:
Susannah Melvoin will be making another appearance at the Electric Fetus in Minneapolis on April 23, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.. She will bring the never before seen artwork that Prince approved for the 1986 unreleased Prince and the Revolution album "The Dream Factory". "Prince loved the Electric Fetus and even days before he transcended was tweeting about them selling his Piano and Microphone concert program. This just seemed like a great way to honor both the work Prince and I put into the Dream Factory project, and his love for the Electric Fetus. I can't wait to show the fans what they've been hearing about and discussing amongst themselves for decades! I miss my friend dearly and will do my part to keep his musical legacy alive and to keep sharing my gift as he always encouraged me to do."

Here we got again: "This just seemed like a great way to honor both the work Prince and I put into the Dream Factory project," She's talking like the project was a joint effort. The wooh is on the one!

I think you are overreacting to this one Paul. I was on her ass (indirectly on this site) about the Starfish and Coffee shit but this one seems cool. She has talked about he and her drawing together and his being a good artist (one of the silver linings of mayte's book is that Prince' s drawing ability is apparent in the book). She called it a project, not an album. She is not implying in this paragraph anything other than working on artwork for an album. And to be honest, its pretty subtle what she is doing. She is promoting her drawing ability but she is not claiming more credit than she deserves as far as I can tell.

What's the other "official" artwork for Dream Factory other than the one Susannah is going to reveal at this event? Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...

She has two different drawings
Susannah Melvoin on designing the Dream Factory album cover: Prince and I used to draw together. He was actually a really great artist. I was really into it, too. I would always have a pad and I was always drawing. I've been drawing since I was a kid. We would sit down and we would draw together. One particular night he couldn't come up with an album cover (for Dream Factory). I came up with a couple of different ones. One of them was actually a dramatized version of myself, opening up a door into this dream world, with images that were based on some of the songs. I remember that there was a lot of white space, because, I couldn't fill up the background with color... Everything was kind of drawn onto white paper. But, the doors were very ornate and I'm opening the door into the Dream Factory. The second album cover didn't have me on it. It just had the name Dream Factory, with some things hanging off the words. I used to do murals in the house where Prince lived, incredible, crazy murals that he would ask me to paint. We were always into doing stuff like that.

Eric was at the Electric Fetus - looking very casual and sifting his way through the store's record collection. Tyka and her husband were there too - she looked well.
