Elisa Fiorillo: PP Events: "Not what Prince was about" . I found it interesting what Elisa Fiorillo said about the recent celebration at PP this past April. . Elisa: . “This thing at Paisley Park is not what Prince was about,” she says. “Ticket prices are like $500 ($550 for general admission, actually), and people who are really fans are expected to pay that to hear some stories. I’d understand if this money was going to a charity he believed in, but it’s just a lot of people hitting while the iron is hot.” . Fiorillo says the event remonds her of Prince’s song “Old Friends 4 Sale,” which also happens to be one of her favorites. . “He’s already said it, ‘Old friends for sale, get ‘em while the gettin’ is hot, but you better watch out, they’ll kiss you until they get what you got,’ ” Fiorillo says. “How about that? He wouldn’t like this, I know it.” . https://www.reviewjournal...ppearance/

People don't think Prince charged top dollar for his stuff?

. I get what she is saying because Prince loved to do shows for dirt cheap or for FREE, so anyone could attend at PP. . I think $550 for general admission is a bit steep. I mean you can spend an entire day at Walt Disney World for less than $200, ya know?

. Well, maybe for like $30 at Paisley Park, but he did do a free concert, back in 1984.....and maybe other's as well. As you know, he did a lot of events for charity. . https://www.washingtonpos...90e290aca6

I also very much doubt that Prince would have wanted PP to close, be sold off and bulldozed to make way for a new shopping mall either. He isn't here anymore to pay the bill's by way of tours, so unless she has concrete information that PP is being handled wrongly she should just shut the hell up! You're right cloveringold85, Prince did many shows at Paisley Park for $10 or less. TRUE BLUE

. Like I said, "as you know", he (Prince) did a lot of events for charity. . What's with the snarky comments? . What "major battles" are you speaking of?

. I didn't mean to start a war by posting this article. I don't think Elisa meant any harm by what she said. She knew Prince, better than any of us (well, I can only speak for myself), and she was simply giving her opinion that it was not Prince's style to charge exorbitant prices to see his shows, that's all. . I know they have to keep PP up and running and that costs money, but she was speaking about the concerts/events, not the PP tour, itself. .

. Yes, and I think that was all Elisa was trying to point out/say -- Prince was a very giving and charitable man and it gave him pleasure to be able to charge a fee to see his shows that ALL people, of ALL income levels could enjoy and afford.

I get what she is saying. There was no mourning time for Prince, there was a "charity " concert (that charity being the estate), his beloved PP being turned into a walk thru almost immediately, Tyka's crazy television appearances where she stated she knew he was going to die. . . Ugh just one dreadful thing after another.

I mean a lot is coming out as time passes as to WHO was closer to him than others, also the fact that he kept pretty good contact with members of the Revolution especially Brownmark. Elisa was in fact very close to him and there were a lot of things that PRINCE was not about at different times in his life, the fact we are all wishing a happy birthday today we all know that he did not care about those things later in life. Prince also probably would not even be into anyone touring with his music, probably for the most part. He was like that, we all know that and I get what Elisa is saying about $$ and some very high prices, but I also have to thank people like The Revolution for touring and Judith Hill and Shleby for coming to NYC and now Shelia coming in August and Morris hopefully soon too, this is something they are doing for "self" of course but more for a healing aspect and also I know that they feel inspired by him and the energy that is there where he used to be, that just cant be left alone, I mean his "side" artists are getting older and many will not be touring long, so I think we need to just respect it all and realize that there will soon be a day where the memories are faded away. . I agree. I don't really have a problem with Prince's former bandmates/associates doing tours/performances and paying tribute. Morris Day & The Time will be in my area in a couple of weeks and I'm excited about seeing his show (I never saw them perform live).
