I thought in Mayte's books she said very nice things about Manueala (after claiming she stole her husband = which she did) I wouldn't necessarily say she said good things about mani in her book, she basically called her a mistress...not a good look She didn't exactly run Mani into the ground either. Which she had every right to in my opinion. Mani WAS essentially his mistress before he married her.

Anna who? Oh wait, that short-term gf who Prince wrote ONE song about and then DISMISSED her?

Just really, really, REALLY triflin'. Are they jealous because Mayte had him in ways they never did? Of all the women listed, she did have him first. Let Mayte tell her story and if you need to write a counterpoint, then do so, but don't waste your time being shady apes.

The Mayte brigade out in full force to protect her from the mean girls who are following an anti Mayte page. Ooo how scary of those ladies.

Keep in mind the change of hearts some of us had. I said it publicly, apologized in many sites publicly as well, and have no problem being exposed with that. I think Mani's behavior has ony been disappointing, Appolonia behaved like a teenager, and Mayte kept high without bashing anyone in public was my take on it all. This is my normal life. Glad Apples and Jill were at the Celebration this weekend along with Susan. People who truly cared about Prince celebrating his legacy and not trying to destroy it.

People will always chat Apples because she was in Purple Rain and that is /was an international success and it is why the world was purple in is honor when he died. Apples was part of that movie. Like her ,hate her she is in the iconic movie playing Vanity. Jill is also in that movie. It does not matter who hates who, who sexed who. The reason Jill and Apples and Susan and Brenda are relevant is because they were around whe Prince became the international icon. Yes he was great decades after but that whole crew including the Revolution stands apart for that alone. M1, M2, Andy, Judith, NPG, 3rd Eye Girl and the hosts of others have their place but none of them ever touched what went down back in the 80s with Prince. So no, if these women never write a book people will be talking about them and sniffing them out. They do not need validate themselves in the history of Prince their places are sealed . Jill and Apples were on the panel at the Academy of Arts Sciences when Purple Rain was honored.

http://www.oscars.org/events/purple-rain-1984 Valid argument but ignored by so many people. Who cares what they did post Purple Rain is the same as saying who cares about Mayte post Prince. This is my normal life. These marital standards cannot be recreated with money.

He isn't. Nothing ANY of these women do or don't say will have ANY bearing on his musical legacy (in my opinion). The man didn't care enough to "fend for himself" in life by leaving a will to ensure his music and estate was taken care of upon his death. Seems to me if those things didn't matter enough to him to be taken care of, why would any of this (books, pamphlets, social media hate pages, etc.)???

Clearly the Academy of Arts and Sciences and not bashing or discounting Prince's other bands, dancers, etc, but as I said Purple Rain is the achievement that the vehicle that made him the international icon. Trying to compare and say who cares is a mute point because no matter what I may personally feel about the individuals in the movie they are part of one ground breaking film that changed pop culture forever. I am not trying to offend but that is the truth and it has been 30 years and people still know Jill, Morris, Jerome, Apples , Susan, Brenda,Wendy , Lisa, Brown Mark, Dr. Fink and Bobby Z and by extension Big Chick too. The statement was if Mayte did not write the book who would be checking for her and someone was trying to say the same of Apples and Jill and I am saying no comparison because of the Prince project they were involved in people will always be checking for Apples and Jill. They were in the iconic movie. People outside of Prince fans would not be checking for Mayte- Non Prince fans know of Apples, Jill, Big Chick and the others I mentioned and yes it was ions ago.

There is a reason Prince always called the 80s the good old days. Well, you keep saying that! In the meantime, threads about them are rare which translates into most people don't care as much. But keep cheering for them out there. This is my normal life. These marital standards cannot be recreated with money.

I noted most peeps who know of Prince and Prince is known by non Prince fans for that movie.
I believe in giving people their props and what is due and they are who they are they were in Purple Rain.
Peeps can diss them all day til eternity it will not change why they are significant in history of pop culture.

Peeps can diss them all day til eternity it will not change why they are significant in history of pop culture. Purple Rain is about Prince. If you ask people, they will associate the movie with him and don't even know the names of secondary actors. I respect that they participated in an iconic fantastic movie that propelled Prince and only him. But other than that supportive role obtained 33 years ago, they are not famous. This is my normal life. These marital standards cannot be recreated with money.

. The true test would be if Mayte wrote a book without mentioning Prince's name! . Our sweet Prince, he's in heaven and still being used and abused. A real shame.

. I find this all kinda funny, considering JJ was trying to get money from P's estate, claiming she was not compensated for certain songs she collaborated on with Prince. . These women! OMG!! . I am a woman myself, but DAYUUM, I don't know how Prince dealt with all these women in his life. I leave Apples out of that because I always found her to be very sweet and down to earth and did her own thing -- she didn't need to ride on Prince's coattails.

I was suprised at how many people actually were familiar by name these people above I have to agree with Malbena. Has Apple's even done anything since Falcon Crest? Don't underestimate non Prince fans knowing Mayte. I'd drifted away from Prince in the 90s but I recall them being a pretty iconic couple. The front page magazine covers, music videos, tv interviews, concert clips...Not to mention all the global newspaper coverage about their marriage and the speculation about their son. Maybe if non Prince fans have forgotten her then I'm pretty sure they will have forgotten the cast of Purple Rain too. There's always a rainbow 🌈 , at the end of every rain ☔️
