I think the John L point you make is very interesting and may be correct. I always found it odd, Prince's dad was on his coat tails with the success of PR-Parade. But when things quieted down a little, John L was not seen as much. My speculation only here. John L not attending the wedding is interesting and can be associated with my speculation. As for the hypnotic conversations, I think it is simple. For Prince, it was a mechanism for him to be open and honest, kinda a curtain so tp speak. It was his way to do what he alwasy wanted to do socially, but never could because he was secluded emotionally. I hope I articulate that well enough to be understood.

I agree 100% Penny...and I'll take it a step further. I think when the impending unsealing of the divorce docs was upon M2, she panicked, bc she KNEW what was in those court docs....and once they were unsealed everyone was like "what was the big deal? why did M2 retain an attorney? nothing was revelealed that put her/Prince in a bad light"....some info was REDACTED:FACT. Being that we all know about the IM message in which M2 asks P "did you burn my things like you did Mayte's in LG's backyard?" Who's to say that the contents of exactly what was butned in LG's backyard were not revealed because it was redacted from the divorce docs, hence M2 contacting M1 to give her a "heads up", with M2 believing this bit of info may come out....AND M2 was P's "assistant".

I think the hypnosis (deep meditation sounds better) was a way for Prince to be open and feel what he was feeling...Love. Something that may have been foreign to him. Yes he may have loved other women but the love he felt for Mayte was a deeper kind of love. A love that rocked his world. I can sense the deep connection between them and as we get through the next few chapters, my heart will break a little more for both of them.

He was Ok with this because if he only did the summoning, there would never be a conversation along the lines of "What? Who does that b*tch think she is calling MY MAN at this ungodly hour!"

Lest we not forget that benzodiazepene was also found in his tox report....which is a derrivitive of either Xanax or Valium, which can be medically prescribed for seizrues. Correct me if I'm wrong, Lbrent.

Exactly. If you're going to maintain multiple relationships, and not in an above-board-polyamory-we-all-share-google-diaries-kind-of-way, you better make sure that there's not women calling you and asking you where you are and what you're doing and can they come over and... Not like I love my guitar....

Yes, but I also suspect the tranquilizers might have been what he got from the pharmacy the night before, and possibly simply because he was strung out Not like I love my guitar....

I know,jayseajay...I actually "shortened" my reply to take that concept out. Fact is, painkillers and benzo's are prescribed in conjunction with one another 9 times out of 10. Maybe this was what was precribed to him at one point in time and he continued this, minus the actual Rx for painkillers. (I didn't want to go there )

Ok, let me explain to y'all non-medical folks about "stomach pumping and save shots".
When someone presents unconcious and there is no clear reason, but someone mentions that they SUSPECT drugs may be involved, those are standard immediate measures taken. That doesn't mean that the person was found to have taken something. And we have never heard THE MEDICAL staff say that the results showed P took a drug.
The IMPLICATION is there were drugs because no MEDICAL STAFF says there weren't drugs found in those situations. They can't say yes or no because of the HIIPA Law.
So, let's say we're at Starbucks and I see you pop a pill or for whatever reason have seen you with a bottle of pills and I don't know that those "pills" are actually Vitamins or whatever but I see you popping them. Then you get a blank stare and pass out...my ASSUMPTION and suspicion might be that the pills I saw you with are the cause, so when the medical staff asks me all I can say it, "I saw him taking some pills then later he went unresponsive!" I'm not lying.
The medical staff will either pump the stomach or issue a save shot JUST IN CASE. If there's something in your system it'll counteract that. If not, it won't hurt you.
So no one except the people who have access to P's medical records or the MEDICAL STAFF who read his bloodwork know what was in his body in any of those scenarios. And the HIIPA Law prevents them from speaking. And it leaves the media reporting only the fact that he was unresponsive and REPORTED to be acting strange.
That doesn't mean that THEIR assumption of drugs is what was happening.

Exactly!
And if y'all notice, Mayte never say the stuff was burned in LG's backyard and she certainly kept saying nice things about LG, except regarding his JW beleifs being at odds with hers.
Don't you think if her stuff was burned in his backyard that she would've been more...I dunno...not feelin him?
I think Manuela wrote that phrase in that text knowing it was untrue but could later come out and Mayte would think it was true. The woman calculated her way from being a superfan into a famous rich man's marraige...don't sleep on the level of manipulativiosity.

I think it was both.I read both, but they both have use in control of seizures...and here's another clue for me...Valium is an old school used for seizures, which leads me to believe that this prescription was something he started taking many years ago and the doctors kept it instead of upgrading him to newer meds. I remember he mentioned not trusting doctors so he probably simply kept a prescription he trusted, but that doesn't mean it was as effective as newer drugs would've been, but again P didn't like turmoil so trying out a new drug was turmoil and...no.

There wasn't much difference in the ages of Lori, Robia and Mayte.

Really?
Cuz dem chix looked old as hell compared to her...and pretty, but in a hardened way.
I thought that way back in the day, it has nothing to do with Mayte's book.
In later years, the lil Australian twins, the real twins, they had a softer sweeter look and appeal to me. But the D&P gals looked very worn to me even way back then.
Sorry if that offends anyone.

Has anybody else picked up on Prince's reaction to the obstetrician's diagnosis of dwarfism? I'm convinced the author is telling us something significant there. With Prince's preoccupation with the number 7; on top of his fondness for snow1, it all ties together to suggest — in my opinion — that Prince knew that he himself might have had some form of dwarfism. ______________ 1—“Snows In April” for example…Plus, Minnesota is a synonym for “Snow” “Sometimes People Don't Want To Hear The Truth Because They Don't Want Their Illusions Destroyed” — Friedrich Nietzsche

Nah...I don't think so Phat, I think that they just didn't care if the baby was a dwarf, because they would love the baby no matter what. I think Prince was just short.

Is that supposed to be a joke?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yeah. I think they'd have love all their children, including Amiir with his medical issues. Mayte simply could'nt see him suffer anymore. Not that I'm blaming her cuz ultimately they both agreed to let the baby go, but she makes it clear that she was the one who first said it and was freaking out not P.
She makes it clear that P was the one tryna get ish done and staying with the baby and advocating and tryna convince her not to give up...that Amiir was "gonna be okay, we'll get him stable and bring him home."
She was in no shape to advocate for Amiir after going through a C-section and everything. That was all Papa Bear P.
To be considered a dwarf medically you would be 4 feet 10 inches or less. He certainly may have had some type of genetic leanings in that direction, though. But who knows how much he knew about them?

My apologies if it seems as though I've skipped to a part in the book that we haven't started discussing yet. My response was to Pennypurple about M2 and her statements in the unsealed divorce docs that has been discussed on the org since January not in reference to any point in the book. Thanks amethyst68 said:
There were some things in the divorce records that could be considered a little embarassing or humiliating that were not disclosed by the Star Tribune. For example, her wanting a portion of royalties on songs that she assumed were written for her that were not. But we haven't reached her in the book yet so.

I gotta tellya, of all the things that bother me about how P carried on a relationship, that wouldn't have bothered me a bit. I'd assume he was busy working, etc and would call when he could. And I'm not really a gal who calls guys...plus, I gottz stuff I'm busy with too. So I don't sit by the phone. I figure we'll catch each other eventually.
I heard some relationship expert say that if a man wants you he'll move Heaven and Earth to get to you, no matter how far you run...and if a man doesn't want you, he'll run to the ends of the Earth to get away from you no matter how hard you chase him.
