If what Matt Fink said is true, I am now officially on Team Revolution..
Has this story been posted yet. Its an interview with Mark Brown and Matt Fink about Prince. MF stated that Prince was in talks starting around 2014 to do reunion shows with the revolution (up until close to his death).
If this is the case, then let them carry on. This might just be pure love, carrying on in the memory of what they were attempting to do with the man himself..
As long as their guest vocalists don't turn into full time Prince replaacements, then I think maybe I misjudged their intentions (or oversimplified their motivations).

I agree with Matt Fink that no one is going to replace Prince and they are going to perform the songs based on their style and that is how you do it. I also agree with Brownmark indicate that they helped Prince to his success. |

What about the antecdote about Prince picking up an accoustic guitar and blowing everyone's minds with all the brilliance he was able to come with off the top of his head. He can't be replaced not just because of his on stage charisma but because he obviously is a genius.

I read that and Prince was a genius but even genuises get influences from various places and people. |

I remember hearing about a planned Prince/Revolution tour in 2000 or so,but there was a big issue that prevented it from happenung Prince informed Wendy and Lisa that they would have to denounce their lesbian lifestyle. They refused and so the reunion never happened.Anyone remember this story? |

This was 2014. He had been performing with one or both of them since then on the Planet Earth Album, Tavis Smiley and the Brit Awards. They were on good terms with him in 2011 according to their twitter page. And according to Wendy, the year before he died, Prince told her that her son with her girlfriend could call him Uncle Princey. Hell, he was performing with Elton JOhn at times as well.

Looks like he eventually mellowed out,but in 2000,he was a hardcore JW,hanging out with Larry Graham and that's probably why he suddenly had a problem with Wendy and Lisa's lesbian lifestyle |

It was confirmed by Dr.Fink and Bobby Z.
Prince called a meeting back then to discuss a possible reunion, and he surprised everyone with his odd "requirement" |

It was also confirmed by Wendy. She said Prince wanted her to denounce being a lesbian and her half-Jewish heritage. She was ready to cut ties with him for good but they made up years later and did that performance on Tavis Smiley. Bobby Z, who is also Jewish said he was nearby Larry and Prince and they were saying bad stuff about gay and Jewish people. If true, I think Bobby Z since had forgave Larry because they continue to communicate somewhat as Bobby did a radio interview with him around 2012. I am not sure if Bobby Z still tight with Larry now. But Bobby don't seem the type to hold forever grudges. [Edited 3/19/17 23:25pm] |

Fucking Larry Graham. I know Prince is no saint, but goddamn what pull did that dude have on Prince? To go from having a multitude of people in his bands to requiring those same people to change who they are. I remember watching Prince, Chaka Khan, Mayte and Larry on Sinbad and everytime that guy talked, Prince was glued to every word. Same thing with Larry King when Larry talked. . Well, I have to say Prince couldn't have been too anti-semitic if he was on Larry King and was Neal Karlen's pen pal at times. But that stupid requirement for being in his band...disgraceful. No wonder Wendy thought they had lost Prince (her words). YOu get the feeling she knew what was going on with Prince and his loss? --thus the reason she and Bobby were so forgiving.

Larry G is some else and other than his bass I dont care for him as a person because he wouldnt think highly of me based on his religion becuase I am a queer. But I am going to say one good thing positive about him: He made Prince feel less angry and Prince was on some angry trip in the 80s and 90s. And P even said around the 2000s he wasn't always feeling angry like he had in the past. While some fans abandoned P when he became JW, I remained his fan like a true soldier that I am even though I didnt always agree with P's decisions. I watched his performance on youtube. I watched his performance that he did Welcome to Australia tour on youtube feature Chuck D and Shelby J, and it teared me up but he was enjoying the time of his life. He was relaxed, looked healthy, and chilling. Now years later we all dealing this shit of a loss.
Larry wasn't the best influence, because he was trying to change Prince in sort of a persuasive way rather than organically, but I believe he made Prince relaxing and more vibrate. But please dont take I am taking up for Larry because I have issues with him of dealt with Prince. And from the way it looks I am wondering does P's family and members of P camp does too.
As for the Revolution, I checked on Wendy and Lisa twitterpage and W/L said awhile back that they had fun times with Prince even if they werent always good. So I think they are going to take the good and bad with Prince. Not so sure about Larry.

But she continued to work with him anyway WTF. I think he did not want to work with her at the time and said this shit to make her go away. I am sorry find the interview because if someone said that to me I would not forgive them or work with them. Sometimes these stories make no sense at all. Why would people coming back if all this was going on.

Larry Graham is no different than a lot of Christians. Just because you do not care for a person's action does not mean you hate them. Everybody that has ever met him has said great things about him as far a being nice. It is obvious that Prince did not feel he was in a good place when he met Larry G. and wanted to find some peace. Sheila E even has said that she does not agree with the JWs but she said it made Prince more calm that it did wonders for him. Prince once said that Larry G was more of a father to him than his own Dad.
You guys want to keep ignoring the fact that like it or not he did a 180 after he got in that religion with his manner with people. If it gave him peace why is that a bad thing?

Damn Laura get off my mofofcking jock and get a life. Do you have life outside the org and Prince? Do you sleep? Do you have a family? There is more life than Prince you know and this coming from someone who have every Prince album and some of his unreleased stuff. It like you always there as I do log in and out throughout the day. It is like you always have time to reply every post I make. Weird and stalkish as fuck. Better be glad this is just the message board because a restraining order is what you need.
If three people confirmed this story it is a situation of where there is a smoke, there is a fire. Perhaps Prince made amends with them and they forgive them that is why they continued to have some association with him even though it wasnt consistant.
So quit with making Prince to be a saint who can't do wrong and stop defending a man who you NEVER going to meet.
I know you have something issues with Wendy in the past (maybe because you are jealous she h ad a connection with him and he always give her a shoutout in his music and onstage and in interviews, meanwhile you are just a fan number...?) and by the way I don't think she gives a flying fuck about the likes of you. She is living the one that is living well, she is the one that have a 35 year on and off friendship with Prince. I can't say the same for you. And from what I was told Prince and Wendy remained good friends until he died and if you truly loved Prince like I know you do, I don't think he would appreciated of you constantly trashing people that were part of his life. You do not have to a part of Prince's camp to know everything. Jesus those songs are like a journal and people are always running their mouths. I wish she was telling us new stuff but it sounds like old stuff with a bitter twist.

WRONG. An outsider who is going by based on songs and people quotes still don't know a lot about Prince. |

I remember hearing about a planned Prince/Revolution tour in 2000 or so,but there was a big issue that prevented it from happenung Prince informed Wendy and Lisa that they would have to denounce their lesbian lifestyle. They refused and so the reunion never happened.Anyone remember this story?
Who did you hear this from ?
In 2000,this story was widely reported on this site and elsewhere. It has also been confirmed by Dr.Fink,Bobby Z. and Wendy herself. |

It seems that some fans are in denial. They think Prince was perfect but as this story proves,he wasn't always the nicest person. That's why they're so pissed about Mayte's book. They wanna block out the negative stuff.

It was also confirmed by Wendy. She said Prince wanted her to denounce being a lesbian and her half-Jewish heritage.
