there is a big difference. Of course I want people to keep the music alive, and only(mostly) those who were associated with the times. Hell even Prince.org is benefitting.
the others have always been 'champions' of Prince music, performed with him etc Andre admitting he has never listened to another Prince album since he left the band, and some other things he's said seems a bit 'now is my chance'. It is the part about him saying he's never listened to another PRince album that is getting at me.
Now he is performing Prince music and leading NPGs and such
Now don't get me wrong, I could be way off. And I adore Andre Cymone in his place in Prince's music and life. Not to mention his production of Jodi Whatley. And I've listened 2 an interview after the Sept First Ave shows that I enjoyed, not to mention seeing him and Brown Mark hitting the bass together.
The whole 'never listened to another Prince album' just hits me weird being a huge consumer of the music.

I understand what you're saying, but I never took that statement from Andre seriously. I believe Prince music belongs to his band memebers too, in some way, and I'm glad that they are keeping it going. I imagine it's very healing for all them . If it's magic, then why can't it be everlasting..... |

idk, he said he heard song like singles on the radio, but never sat and listened to an album.
Well, yes I said the same. The band members/proteges are the only ones I care to hear do Prince music. There is a different intimacy that way.
I had a picture of BrownMark & Andre popping their bass and Wendy polishing Andre's bass, I cannot find it. Love that one

I also am not feeling Andre, a tad of bitterness was a nice way of putting it.
--Something is off about him and his comments about Prince getting an education in his house because his brother Eddie was a pimp made me think Prince would have been better off in his house with his own family. [Edited 4/4/17 15:53pm]

Yes it sure seems that way.
He was basically an unknown in the music scene but now he's promoting an album appearing on tv...all for him. He comes off as bitter and feeling left out by prince?? [Edited 4/5/17 12:23pm] |
