Rumor on good authority has it that she is thinking about pulling the book. I hope not. I think it is important for her to go forward with the book.

Thank you. It's sickening. It makes me not want to come to Prince.org anymore. I come here because I miss him, and want to be around his fans. What the hell??? [Edited 3/17/17 18:51pm]
Mayte is just cashing in. What was private she should have left private!! His estate should have stopped this book from coming out!!!

Maybe the Estate approves.

The damage is done; Prince is being called everything but a child of God due to the book.

It is sad and I cannot believe there was not foresight to what reaction would be.

A man can mourn the loss also.

Prince was a man who lost his child. He was human it is not about sides it is being humane and having compassion for all involved about the loss of child. However the spin on this story is an attempt to vilify him in a way that is so wrong.

I feel sorry for him because he is helpless, he has no voice. This is like someone locking you

up and slandering you and you cannot say one word in your defense- they become judge and jury. It is not proper in any way at all.

Do to the book? Or from Prince's own actions, that he himself did?

What did Prince do? Did you personally see him do something? Did people plot to sign up with Prince.org just to debase him weeks before the anniversary of his death? People are saying all sort of vile things about him and he's no longer here to defend himself. He's dead. Please let him be. We should be outraged as fans at what's being said, not throw out blame towards him like we saw him do something with our own eyes.

The book. These excerpts have have people saying horrible things about Prince for things that happened back in the 1990s. No one is even realizing that he is not here to defend and that exes are bitter people.

I do not care how wonderful you are getting dumped for a better model is never fun and there is always a residual 'I'll show you". This js the 1st wives time to dig it to him and the whole world is her stage.

This book has been bad for Prince the man.

I think it is very sad that someone who supposedly loved him is being so frivilous with his life and times. We all have certain rights but intergrity and character should dictate wisdom if knowing where and when. It appears those involved in this book lack both intergrity and any sense of character.

Every one here on this Earth has their own to story, and it is theirs to tell. Mayte's just happens to have Prince in hers. Nobody has even read the book yet, all of this is from excerpts that the media has picked and choosed. Prince was not perfect, and I think we all know this.

.

Prince's story is being told, even after his death. Paisley Park is open and telling his story. Let Mayte tell hers.

I never said that. But the woman carries the fetus for nine months and sacrifice her body and her emotional and her freedom to give it nourshiment and care and supposely love, obvivously I am going to side with the woman (some women even died of childbirth), and so we agree to disagree. I understand we live in a patriarchy world (where it fucks women's well being a thousand times over) but everything isn't always a man's feelings.

And also life doesn't stop on 4/21 so therefore I believe the ones who knew Prince should tell their story. Good, bad, ugly, because that isn't going to change my admiration of Prince as a musician and as being eccentric even though I believed he was a troubled yet grey area soul. And the ones who knew Prince are approaching the ages from 30 to even around 80 and I want them to share their firsthand accounts while they are here and since in the US there is no laws to sue the dead, they are freely can so because I predicted by the mid century, there won't be a lot of opportinuty.

And there is no such thing as a proper way of expressing your history with someone good, bad or ugly. Mayte said in that time.uk interview she is leaving out quite a bit of details in the book. She still respecting his privacy.

"Prince was not perfect, and I think we all know this." And Mayte is no angel either. It will be interesting how much of her mistakes and imperfections she owns up to because with Prince no longer alive to defend himself, the coast is clear to cast shadows on Prince's behavior and possibly omitting behavior on Mayte's part that was just as unflattering. No one is stopping her from publishing her book but she can't stop people's criticisms and suspicions of her decision to sign off on People magazine sensationalizing excerpts from her book that use innuendo to demonize Prince.

The lack of compassion for a 22 year old who lost her six day old child who was severely deformed is heartbreaking. On top of that, she was made to go on Oprah right after.

Prince was a public figure who had to deal with privacy issues on top of all his pain. He suffered as much as Mayte, for sure. And he dealt with things that way he thought best at the time. No need to take sides. The hurt was mutual. The pain eternal.

Carefully orchestrated to vilify him prior to the anniversary of his death which makes this a sinister, heartless move. I know I am still hurting and it is the 1st anniversary. There is something special about that. sad

What I find to be not proper is that the experience of a woman bringing forth life and surviving this kind of tragedy flipped to be an indictment of her, when clearly she is trying to give voice to and find closure for obvious trauma tha thas impacted her life.

Vashtix, why don't you get a clue and stop judging something, that you know nothing about. You haven't read the book, only excerpts, that hasn't even been put into context. You nor anyone else know whether she will speak ill of him or not. Your comments are based on something you know nothing about. Get over it. The book is coming out this week. Like it or not.

I am pretty sure there is soooo much she left out. Honestly this humanizes primce for me. I can only imagine what I might do to try and erase the constant reminders of a loss like that. He was reacting out of gut wrenching never ending pain. I am not about to judge him for that. And as one of the most popular entertainers in the world he thought he was obligated to keep up the act and keep it moving hense the interview. We know how private he was he wasn't gonna miss that interview clueing folks into what was happening making them dig more and more.
