I agree. For some reason she comes across as someone who is not well emotionally. She should avoid commenting at all, imo. It's making her look silly.

Sorry for the double post. My dog decided to jump on my lap in the middle. lol. I got the book at midnight last night and read just about all of it. I didn't see anything outrageous and honestly it seems like she held her tounge quite a bit regarding Mani. I think I would have not been as kind. Also, I just saw an interview of Apples from several years ago and she said she had nothing to do with P and once the movie was done....she was done. I also thought she was secretly married during PR? Anyway, the book was touching and not the scandal I assumed it would be.

Thanks 4 the reminder...i forgot about the Chaplin connection. There are alot of parallels with Prince and Chaplin and Valentino. Valentino wanted to learn to play piano and also sang. There are a few recordings in the public domain. I do wonder about Chaplin and his romantic life and if we could draw parallels with any of Chaplin's and Prince's romantic interests.

Malbena- You are dead on it. I saw this but wasn't going to say anything (the pic she posted taken by Prince on her fb) I was waiting to see who else would notice or if anyone would say anything. So bizarre. If they are friends, this is sort of "Mayte's day" --- Honestly, the book and the press she's getting is big and a friend would sit back and let her have it or help promote it. Instead she posts this pic with a "guess who" purple heart tag- --- Geez. She just strikes me as a scary woman. So maniacal.

we don't get Manuela's side of the story because she has respected his privacy up to this point.. NOna might have thought of Mayte as a mistress, too, when Prince started dating her. Prince was a lady's man (man whore to sound more cynical)...he didn't hide the fact. But he also kind of sucked at breaking up relationships in a normal way (he was a bit chicken shit). The bigger threat to Mayte however was probably Larry Graham than another woman because Graham had a lot of father-figure like influence on prince's spirituality..(Prince spirituality dictated a lot of his behavior)

Manuela's dirty laundry is being hung out to dry and her reaction is to post a picture of herself taken by her ex-husband. If Mayte has a right to do into details about their life, a simple picture of Manueal on a website to remind a few people that her ex husband at one time loved her is not that bad. She lost an ex husband to a tragic early death and "enablers" too.. She has feelings too.

Apollonia isn't nearly as powerful of an influence than interviews on GMA, support from ex band members and a potentially best selling memoir. If Manuela writes a book, will you guys just automatically call her the mistress and say she doesn't have a right to tell her story. She's been completely quiet. (for me, I guess it would depend on how she approached a book.) Okay, so maybe she was a super fan. But Mayte just stated in her book that she thought she would marry either Prince or some other dude at the age of 8. She stated that her mother was a big fan (at the time that is..LOL) of Prince;s. Manuela took some money from Prince in the divorce settlement but I have heard much worse and I am glad he gave it to her without too much of a fight because maybe it means he was a bit more generous than people assumed. Unless more than 1% of Mayte's book went to charity, money is a bit of a concern of hers as well.

I am not digging on Mayte right now. Still mixed about the timing of the release but not entirely upset about the content. But people make mistakes. If I can forgive her timing in terms of release, I think others could forgive a starstruck woman who probably did love prince (beyond just his money) and who later might have saw the error of her ways when stopped "smiling at [his] friends when you really hate them" (Prince alluding, I assume, to Manuela's growing dislike of JW pals.)

Also, devils advocate a bit..since Manuela is supposedly the devil...(and don't say my somewhat mild criticisms of Mayte are demonizing her)...Manuela got criticized for mentioning her kids in front of Mayte on the Ex-Wives show..Well, supposedly Manuela miscarried as well. And Arsenio once mentioned in front of P that he had a new son.. really, people can't talk about their kids in front of P and Mayte?

I dont' want to get into it with Meltedman...but how would he or Mayte know anything about what PRince talked about to Apolonnia or anyone else for that matter after 2007 or so when P and her saw each other at a concert of his.

Apollonia did see Prince recently at Denise's funeral. that's confirmed by Jill Jones. How much they talked, I don't know. But it is possible he said something nice about Manuela.

I think part of it may be that during filming PR Apples was married and ended up crushin on Baby Boy (no surprise there) but never got to explore that then went on with her life and when he flirted with her a few years ago at PP those feels resurfaced then...4/21...so she never had the opportunity to see what could've been during her prime then later when they reconnected I think that possible opportunity had closed due to her age (no offense, but he liked em far younger and I know, I know...She let an awful lot of time go between, but to be fair...she probably thought she'd catch up with him again and...ya never know...I don't think she had a chance at this age, but...)

Add to that those "This could be us but you keep playin" memes all over the Internet.

And her family stresses.

And now Mayte's book about the actual romance she lived that Apples might have fantasized about but will never have now, plus her freindly affection for P.

It all can add up to hurt feelings and being petty and spiteful.

I wonder if Apples has a relationship with M2 at all.

Honestly, I'll bet if Arsenio was talking about that show with someone close to him that he either wasn't thinking that P might find it painful OR he thought about it later and kicked himself. I don't think he did it deliberately.

Manuela, on the other hand, as I've learned more about her history since 4/21 I don't trust her motives and several months ago when Mayte's book was announced and I watched Hollywood Exes to see more of Mayte and her interaction with Manuela, I expressed how I really didn't trust her with Mayte. I think M2 used Mayte's personality against her and twisted the knife knowing that their marraiges ended very differently. M1 was left by P, M2 left P.

Totally different power dynamic.

I think M2 used that power dynamic against M1 and M1 was sorta trying to be nice.

I never bought into M2's agenda. And after 4/21, suddenly she's a "co-widow" with M1. I think M1 allowed that though cuz she admits to be unsure of her welcome to PP after 4/21 and M2 clearly maintains a relationship with Omar.

Honestly, I think M1 got stronger over this year and after the inclusion and stuff with the BET tribute, she doesn't need M2's "pity inclusions".

Posting that pic taken of her by P was definitely a power move on her part. An "I was happy and had him after you were unhappy and didn't have him anymore" reminder slap in the face by M2 for M1.

Mani's been quiet so far, as she should be what with building the school she supposedly "discussed with P" and taking care of her children and s*@cking Eric's phallice, she shouldn't have time for much playing in the fields surrounding PP for a bit...cuz we all know how she emphasized to the court that the divorce records remain sealed cuz she was so private and didn't enjoy public life and makeup and stuff.

Chiiiiile, P's probably in the AfterLife sittin on a fluffy purple cloud (after Amiir goes to sleep) lookin at all this and shakin his head and chucklin at all this Harem 2.0 crap goin on down here and waitin to tell Vanity the details when they meet for rehearsal with David Bowie and George Michael tomorrow.
